Chapter 160
Snape watched as Narcissa came down the stairs with Draco and her husband Lucius.
“I wonder how she’ll take it, she really wanted to see an end to him.”
“But she won’t be pleased to hear about you,” Lily told him sadly. Snape looked at her with a resigned face.
“I just hope that she realizes I am happier here,”
Lily looked up into his eyes her own shining with happy tears. “Not to sound horrible but I am happier with you here,” they once again shared a kiss.
“Bets on how long it’ll take before they tire of snogging?” James asked with a laugh.
“Never they both chimed in at once. The others laugh all taking bets now.
Narcissa watched all the happiness going on around her; her mind had wandered back to just a short while ago when she was sitting in the Forbidden Forest. She was scared the time was nearly up. Harry had not shown himself and she knew that the Dark Lord was going to be very angry. What though was scaring her, the most was not, knowing, about two people she loved, her son Draco, where he was in the school was he even alive in there. He had not left with the other Slytherin students who had been sent out through some magic room to end up in the Hogshead. He was she knew in there, but what she didn’t know was whether he was alive or dead? The other person was Severus Snape, he had gone to see the Dark Lord in the Shrieking Shack and although the Dark Lord had return, to tell Harry he had an hour left. Severus had not returned as far as she knew. He was not with her and all the other Death Eaters who were sitting fearfully in the dark woods. This was scaring her just as much. She didn’t know what the Dark Lord might have set him to do, but she knew it could be no good.
The two men came back reporting that Harry was nowhere to be seen. The Dark Lord looked troubled; he was obviously very disappointed that he was wrong about Harry showing up. The unthinkable happen though; Harry had emerged from nowhere to tell the Dark Lord he was here after all. Narcissa expected Harry to battle for his life, to do something. But he did neither he stood there allowing the Dark Lord to murder him. Narcissa screamed she was sure that Harry would some how rid her of this man, a man who terrorized everyone.
Narcissa heard a lot of commotion and turned to see that the Dark Lord was on the ground. He was not moving at the moment and Bellatrix was hysterical trying to rouse him from the ground.
It was not long though before he had awakened. Narcissa was sorely disappointed; she wanted to see him dead at long last for good and to never rise again.
The only thing he wanted though was not the loving support her sister wanted to give him, but to know whether Harry was alive or dead. Narcissa jumped with a yelp as he sent a stinging hex at her bare leg. Narcissa walked over to his body as he lay in the dirt leaves and twigs, he looked as though he was merely sleeping.
I will not tell him if you are alive, I just want to know about my son. Narcissa thought as she got to her knees leaning over his body listening to his breathing, her hand slipping under his shirt to feel a strong heart beating there.
He survived the killing curse a second time, thank you. Narcissa thought as she whispered softly into his ear, he was she knew her only chance.
“Is my son alive? Is he in the castle?”
Narcissa couldn’t help but grip his chest with relief when he whispered ever so softly
“Yes,”
“He is dead My Lord,” Narcissa stood up going for her most impassionate tone as she could muster at this time. What she had not expected was for Voldermort to use the cretaceous curse on him, and for him to remain limp as though he felt no pain at all.
