Snape was walking toward the Headmaster’s office when he passed Moaning Myrtle’s restroom; he stopped as he stood by the door the obvious aroma of cabbages coming from it.

That is very odd? Snape thought as he slipped into the girls’ restroom, looking around.

Severus grinned slightly as he remembered the times that Lily had dragged him into the restroom for a heavy make out session telling him they were perfectly safe since no one ever came into this restroom since Moaning Myrtle made it very uncomfortable to pee while she was howling in misery and remorse. He wasn’t sure it was ideal for romance but they were able to ignore Myrtle who left when she caught them in one of the stalls partly undressed. Lily reported later that Myrtle had not come back in as yet for fear of finding others in there.

Severus walked down the stalls until he reached the one near the end. Snape pushed open the door to see a cauldron bubbling and gurgling away. “Ah so that is where my ingredients had gone too, Miss Hermione and taken them for Polyjuice potion. But why does she want it?” Snape shook his head bemused as he looked at the potion. “I must say she is as always doing a great job on her potion. I wonder if she’d even figure out how to cut the time and days down like you did Lily?” He smiled amused as he left their work there. “I’m sure your son is coming in here with her to help on this project, which you may prefer to the things we did in here.” Snape laughed as he checked to make sure no one was out in the hall and quickly left the bathroom to continue on his way to Dumbledore’s office.

Severus went to the upper floor with Dumbledore as they sat at the small table with a cup of tea each and some snickerdoodle cookies.

“So have you heard how the Dueling Club had gone yesterday evening?” He finally asked since Dumbledore seemed in no hurry to talk as he ate his cookies.

“Ah yes I had heard that Lockhart had impressed the students with his… proficiently at dueling. Lockhart had happily given me a demonstration of how he waved his wand around and helped Harry defeat the large snake that Draco had conjured up.”

Severus laughed at this, he couldn’t believe that pompous ass, had lied so blatantly.

“I see, so he embellished the truth to suit him self, I am not at all surprised by this.” Snape smiled as he ate his own cookies.

“Nor am I, especially since he continued to drop his wand the whole time he was telling me about how much he had taught the students.” Dumbledore smiled at Snape.

“I am sure they learn how to not drop their wands.” They both laughed at this.

“So tell me why did you select a snake?” he was very curious to learn this.

Snape grinned at him. “I thought it would be interesting to see how Potter reacted to it.” he looked into Dumbledore’s sparkling blue eyes.

“I was though most surprised by the out come, as is the whole school which is at this time talking about Potter and his ability.” Severus smiled, he too was wondering about Harry’s capability to talk with snakes.

“Yes that is quite amazing; I assume it comes from….” Dumbledore stop talking they heard Peeves yelling Attack. “It seems we may be having company soon.” Dumbledore said simply. The two waited in silence as they listen to the office below, it was not long before Harry was brought to the office.

Dumbledore walked down the stairs to see Harry.

Severus watched from the shadow to see Harry looking very upset as he explained about Fawkes. Snape grinned to him self. Harry obviously had no knowledge about these unique birds.
