Chapter 142

Snape had received an owl in the morning post on Thursday; he smiled as he read the small letter from Narcissa.

Severus, let us meet this Saturday,

I need to get away and being with

you is the best, Love Cissy.

Snape replied back that he would not be able to meet until half past one on Saturday since he had Potter in detention that day, but would tell him to clear out at one so they could meet at the Three Broomsticks. Snape knew there was at least one thing to look forward to, he would be glad though when the year was over so he did no longer have to watch over Harry and with luck Draco would still be alive then.

Snape went to his class which was with Potter later that day, until then he had his fifth term students which included one of his favorites, Luna Lovegood.

“Settle in class, we shall be tackling a new creature today, it is well known to try and disrupt your life by spreading lies and causing others to mistrust you, these things are called,”

“Sadtalbis,” Luna piped up with her usual dreamy look.

“Ah no they are called, Disparingters, they looks like a small dark shadow, and the only way to know it is there is to make it move and then you may use this spell,” Snape brought out his wand, giving it a small wave while saying the incantation. “Clensala,”

he looked around at them all. “It will bring a bright inner light to not only the Disparingters, but also to your self, this will keep you from becoming suicidal and taking your own life, it is the most reasons for this to happen and it does affect both Wizards and Muggles alike.”

Snape had set them to work at the spell, as he walked around them to make corrections of their wand work. When Snape reached Luna she smiled brightly at him.

“I am always amazed how similar you are to Harry in your teaching. If I had not known I’d have assumed you were his father.”

Snape took a step back from her as though she was growing extra limbs with claws attached.

“I assure you I am most definitely Not his father,”

“That is too, bad. I think you’d have made a fine father for him,”

Snape raised an eyebrow at her, his mouth hanging open in stunned silence, he turned to walk off unable to think of anything to say to that.

Me a fine father for Harry, that’s absurd. Where would she get that crazy idea? Besides the boy hates me with a passion. Snape thought sadly before he looked back over at Luna as she performed the spell perfectly.

“Twenty points for Ravenclaw, for getting the spell down. Ten points for your incredible thoughts.” Snape muttered under his breath. He went to correct another student’s wand work and the way they were pronouncing the word.

The class ended as the students left for their next class the class with Harry had entered shortly after them.

Snape sat at the desk watching them unloading their books and wands, he couldn’t help but think over Luna’s words, how they taught the same and how she for what ever reason had thought he would be a good father for Harry.

She must have been hit by some odd floaty thing, she is always talking about. It made her delirious, how could we have similarities, the only thing we have in common is Lily, and that is as far as it goes, Snape pressed his lips together as he stood up from his desk pushing those thoughts away from him.
