Chapter 108

The following weeks, Snape was walking slowly through the halls watching the different house students and trying to avoid Moody who seemed to always show up where ever he wandered. Severus continued to look away from him; he had no desire to look at him or his penetration eye.

Alastor though came into his office very unpleasantly though, as Moody was dragging Malfoy into his office. Snape raised an eyebrow at Moody as he had just given Draco a rather harsh shove into a chair in front of his desk. Severus pulled the parchment toward him and rolled it up tightly.

“I brought Malfoy to you since your head of his house; he tried to hit Potter with a spell while his back was turned. I gave him a good teaching on why we don’t attack while your opponent is turned to you.”

Snape looked at him coldly. “You did, and what did you do?” he asked not entirely sure he wanted to know what kind of crazy thing Moody would have come up with to teach someone something.

“I changed him to a ferret and bounced him a few times; I think a good hard shock will do the trick.” Moody looked quite pleased with him self.

“You do, do you…” He looked coldly at him, “I am assuming you were told that we do NOT use physical punishment,” Snape glowered at him.

“Er yeah I was told that by Minerva but sometimes…” He growled

“Fine I shall take care of him, leave him with me.” Severus said full of fury. Changed him to a ferret what was he thinking even I wouldn’t do that to a student. Snape thought angrily.

Moody looked oddly at him as he turned to leave the office. Once the man was gone he used a softer kinder tone with his godson. Not that he would let on that he was Draco’s godfather.

“Are you ok Draco?” Snape asked in a softer voice.

“Yes, but I’m going to tell my dad about that old codger.” Draco looked at the door angrily as he turned in the chair.

“I understand and you needn’t worry it is not something that some promote but many do… ah use spells when their opponents are turned. It is something many feels justified in doing.” Snape smiled at him, “the ones with no guts usually.”

Draco grinned at him very pleased. “Thank you sir, umm maybe a few extra house points for the pain and humiliations for it?” Draco asked hopeful.

Snape smiled at him thinking to himself, still a suck up, ah well he wouldn’t be in my house if he wasn’t. “I say twenty points for pain and twenty for humiliation shall help.” He smiled kindly. Draco grinned broadly at him.

“Thank you sir, I better be going now, I want something to eat. Are you coming to dinner?” Draco asked softly.

“I shall be along presently.” Snape smiled as he thought of the unfinished letter he was writing to Lily.

“Ok sir, see you later.” Draco left the office with a large grin on his face, despite the fact he looked a bit worn and disheveled.

A week later he was walking down the hall humming a Muggle song to himself. He stepped up to his office door to find it was unlocked. Something he knew he never did. He brought out his wand walking inside readying to hex the intruder. He did wonder if maybe Harry and his friends were the ones to break into his office. He saw no one at first then heard a grunt. He walked over to his private stores to see Moody in there.

”What are you doing in my office and my private stores?” He asked coldly.

“Ah Snape good to see you. Doing a routine check on Dumbledore’s orders,” He gave him a nasty smile.
