The very next morning, Harley woke the Joker and the Scarecrow up for their plan. They had a bit of breakfast and left at around 5. Joker took his car and off they went...

As the Scarecrow Joker set up the mind control device, the Clown Prince of Crime grinned sinisterly. He watched as Scarecrow breathed into the Jack-in-the-box to fully activate it.

Joker smirked and placed the device and aimed it to the police station and the fire department; which were, ironically, right next to each other. He looked at the Scarecrow and back at the incoming sun. It was beautiful. Usually, Gotham would be sad a gloomy. However, on this particular morning, it was gorgeous for once.

Scarecrow looked at Joker and grinned wickedly. He gave a low chuckle before asking, "are we all set to go?"

Joker nodded and smirked, "would you like to activa-''
Before he finsihed his sentence, Scarecrow activated the device. The Joker, quickly, grabbed his binoculars and checked to see if the machine did it's work correctly.

Instantly, it knocked out and made all of the firefighters and police officers out. Green smog escaped out of the buildings and into the street like a thick fog. He looked up and saw that the bat-signal was activated. He cringed slightly and groaned. "Oh well... We can still take over the city as planned! Right, Scarecrow?" Joker turned around and saw the Scarecrow laughing almost insanely.

Joker backed away from the mind control device as he heard a loud clock-like sound come out of it. Scarecrow picked up the device and threw it to the Joker and laughed more as the poor green-haired villain fled from it.

Ducking for cover, the Joker hid in an abandoned room, hearing a bomb go off. The building shook violently from it, green and black smoke coming into the room. Joker whimpered and got up shakily. He looked at the Scarecrow and smirked. "Did you think I would listen to your orders, boss?" He hissed, tossing sticks of dynamite at Joker. He made a run for it, running to the stairs with quick speed. Scarecrow laughed, yet again and threw more sticks of the lit dynamite at the clown. Joker gave a horrified shreek and slid on the roof. He looked at the stairs, which were blasted off and set in flames.

Joker shook his head. He wished he listened to Harley's warnings about the Scarecrow a day ago. Now, instead of ruling the city, he was runing away, yet again, from one of his trusted 'friend.'

Scarecrow had his eyes on his meek prey. The Joker was about to get up on his feet, preparing to flee. However, the deranged doll-like man had other plans in-store. He grabbed the Joker by the neck and laughed in his face. "You really are an imbecile, aren't ya?" He raised the clown in the air, laughing at his horrified face.
"You should have listened to your girlfriend, Joker. You should have expected that this is what I truely wanted. And now look. Look with those tensed, fearful hazel eyes of yours!" The Scarecrow then tossed him to the other side of the roof. Joker got up and teared up. This was his fault. He could feel the familiar sensation of fear amd anger take over his entire body, clinched fists and anger in his eyes.

He turned slowly back to Scarecrow and growled. "How could you do this...?"

Scarecrow merely chuckled happily. He shooked his head and pulled out a remote. "You see this beauty here?" His finger pointed to the middle of the remote. A glossy red, metal-like button shined. "Once I press this pretty, little button here, that bomb you set at the bottom of Gotham city will blow this miserable place into bits and pieces!"

The Joker was confused. How on Earth did he reactivate it!? Batman deactivated over a week ago! It was impossible...

"How?" He asked in a weak voice. Scarecrow chuckled and smiled.
"Easy. I asked for a little bit of help from the Crock and I instructed him how to reactivate it. And now, I can set it off at any taken moment!"

Joker shook his head in terror. "No! You can't! You were working for me! How could y-"
"Abandon the Joker? The great 'Clown Prince of Crime!?' Quite easily, really. You're so naive to actually think I, the Scarecrow, would ever help someone such as yourself!"

Joker looked down and back at the Scarecrow. "I thought we were buddies!"

"Buddies?" He watched as the Joker ran away to a hidden passage. "We were never buddies, J. You were my little toy. I always used you, even if you could not see it."

Joker ran towards the escape ladder. He looked up at the, still gorgeous, sun rise.
Suddenly, he was kicked down. Joker saw the Scarecrow, grabbing him by his neck and nearly choking him."You are such an idiotic fool!" He shouted, throwing him at the ladder. The Scarecrow then looked at his remote, that he was still carrying, and hit the big red button.
The Joker looked back and heard the familiar ticks of a bomb. He gasped, "NO!"

Ten minutes were on the clock...
