As Dick took off his goggles for the night, he gave a soft yawn as he headed up to bed. He wondered how his fathers were doing. It had been almost an hour since all had went silent. Maybe, they had made up. He hoped for the best. Garfield was finally asleep in Dick's bed, dreaming of wonderful things. It was almost midnight, and the little sidekick could not fall asleep due to his horrid thoughts. Who would blame him? His parents had a rather messy 'fight' because of the commissioner. And now, because she kept on kissing his Padre, Joker was irritated and fed up with her. Of course, he could have handled it in a different way instead of kidnapping her. But, that would have been boring.
As he started to walk towards his parent's room, Dick gasped as he saw a figure walk out and headed towards he and Garfield's bedroom. He hid in a dark corner, looking over it slightly. It was his Papa.
Joker went inside Robin's bedroom and sat at the end of the bed, tilting his head a little. He noticed that Garfield was sleeping alone without the sidekick. Looking around the dark room, the clown tried to see if Robin was there. Panic began to flood through his body as he slowly got up and bit his lip. Of course, Robin must be sad or worried about he and Batman. Especially because of what he had said to the little boy.
Walking out of the bedroom, he could hear someone walk back into Dick's room with lightning speeds. Joker turned around and saw Robin, grabbing his hand swiftly.
"W-wait!" Joker stopped him and saw the sidekick's small, black, beady eyes tear up slightly. He couldn't see his iconic large goggles on his face. The clown went down onto his knees and looked at Boy Wonder with big, pleading eyes. He tried to touch his cheek, but Robin flinched in response. Joker gasped horrifically as his bottom lip quivered.
"You're afraid of me now because of what I said, aren't you?"
The sidekick slowly nodded and began to calm himself down. He looked at the clown and whimpered slightly. A large flood of thoughts filled his mind with worry. What if Barbra was right about Joker? It couldn't be true.
"You don't love Padre anymore because of miss Gordon, r-right? Does that mean I can't call you Papa anynore?"
"No, no, no, dear," Joker said as he wiped away Robin's tears away. "Listen: Padre and I talked for a while. We both had to express our feelings to each other. I was angry at him, yes, but we're good now. I gave him one more try. And," he pulled out his walkie talkie and chuckled at the freckled face boy. "Mister Riddler, Mister Penguin, and I are gonna watch them incase Gordon Ramsay girl pulls anything funny!"
Robin smiled big and gasped happily. He was so relieved to hear that they have made up. Now all he had to worry about was his birthday. He hugged Joker tightly and smiled as tears fell down his cheeks.
"I was so scared you and Padre were going to break up."
"I know, kiddo," the clown said softly, "I'm sorry about everything. We can move on, right?"
Robin nodded as he quickly kissed Joker's cheek and headed back into his bedroom. The clown was left in the hallway, smiling happily to himself. He got off from the ground and chuckled to himself as, he too, headed back to the bedroom to sleep the night away. Joker knew he, his sons, and the Dark Knight needed it badly.
