"I bet this one will look good on you, Papa!" Robin exclaimed, giving Joker a gorgeous light lilac colored tuxedo. The clown sighed as he went into the changing room, worry shined on his face like a bright light. He placed his items onto a small, blue bench. He couldn't understand why the caped crusader would invite him to such an event. They could get in terrible trouble for this. Not to mention, the entire police force could be there, waiting for him and to arrest him. What could he do once he was taken behind bars once again? All eyes were going to be on him and the hero. Unless he stayed out of the way, he could not think of another way. This was all too much for him.
Realizing that he was taking long, he stripped from his orange and white shirt with purple pants and sighed heavily, looking into the rather long mirror. He always made it too complex or complicated for other's to understand. And it hurt badly whenever a fellow villain said it's too much for them to take in, too detailed. They would always scream at him to get to the meat of the project. But, all the Joker wanted was to be heard. And sometimes, he just had to keep his lips sewn tightly together painfully. It hurt badly. His breathing and thinking would become uneasy. He would feel insulted by others if they said that his plan was too much. It was hard for him to not be detailed with the littlest thing.
Putting on the white t-shirt, he sighed softly to himself. He wondered if his beloved hero went through these kind of breakdowns. Possibly not since he was Batman! What could be inperfect about him?
Joker put on the lilac colored tuxedo top and smiled. Lilac was not his thing, but he did like the colors. They didn't match that great, but it was fine. He then out on the pants swiftly, pulling them up to his waist that hugged around his hips perfectly. He smiled and chuckled lowely at the mirror, fixing the collar of his neck and sighed. He looked rather nice. It was sweet of his love to give him a tuxedo for the event. The clown owed the caped crusader oh-so much. Although, he remembered when Superman had almost killed him, and then the Scarecrow. But still, he was very grateful for the hero. He just did not know how to express it other than sweet, loving kisses that would leave kiss marks on his face. Even during their secret private time, he feels as if he is not doing enough. He felt like he could not adress it to the hero enough.
"Papa?" A small voice asked, peeking into the room. The freckled face boy tilted his head as Joker turned around, fully clothed. "I told you that it would lool good on you!"
Joker nodded, faking a small smile. He watched as Robin hugged him tightly, his face warm with blush. "Thank you for telling Padre! He got me and Garfield ice cream for tonight."
"Oh? He pulled a me?" The two laughed a little. "I swear, if he has green hair, we might have a problem!"
Robin nodded and giggled, "yeah! I wouldn't be able to tell you guys apart. Garfield and I chose our suits."
"Awe. Are you two going to dance?"
"Yes! Hopefully. Maybe? Are you and Padre going to dance too?"
Joker's smile instantly faded away when the sidekick asked that. He knew it was coming. It was excepted. Robin gasped as his eyes blinked frantically.
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you upset! Is there something wrong? Padre said-"
"I know," Joker said, cutting the young boy off. "He told me he was going to try and explain to miss Gordon our relationship. But, that's just the thing! I know she won't like us! She doesn't ship it."
"Ship it?"
"As in our relationship," he said sourly, looking down at the ground. "I'm a bad guy, he's a good guy. I should be in jail."
"But you arent!" Robin exclaimed silently. "And-and that's because he loves you. We love you very much. Even Garfield loves you!"
"That's sweet of the kid," Joker mumbled to himself softly. Robin nodded and hugged the villain tightly, sighing softly into his shoulder. The clown's face grew warm as he hugged his son back, rubbing his back.
"You're worried about the police?" Robin asked softly as he looked at Joker with worried eyes.
"Deathly," he replied with a dark chuckle of amusement. He ruffled his hair gently, sighing softly. "You shouldn't worry about me and your father. You should be worried about having fun with Garfield! Unless, you're worried about something too?"
Robin was silent, looking down at the tiled floor worriedly. Joker tilted his head and blinked. He began to grow concerned for the boy and lifted his chin up with a finger.
"Is something the matter with Garfield, Robin?"
"It's not him," he said silently. His black, beady eyes looked into Joker's, almost shamefully. "It's me. I'm worried if I'm going to be annoying to the other people."
"I bet there'll be children there other than you two. Besides, since when were you annoying to me, Padre, and Alfred? If anything, we play with you!" Joker smiled reassuringly to the young boy.
Robin nodded slowly and smiled at the clown, blushing more. He giggled and sighed. "I just hope everything goes okay tomorrow."
"I know, kid. Me too," Joker replied sheepishly. He let the freckled face boy hug him once more as he exited the changing room, smiling to Garfield softly. "Your turn!"
