Robin laid down on the couch, watching some cartoons as his father was still with the Joker.Alfred had just left, heading to the supermarket to gather some more food.
Robin had some suggestions as to why, other than him being 'injured'. Perhaps, his father was going to try and confess his feelings. The small boy's thoughts were interrupted by a small giggled, coming from behind him. It was a raspy, old-sounding giggle. It didn't sound like Joker or Batman. Then who was it?

He turned around and gasped in terror as he saw who was behind him. He screamed and ran away from the intruder and growled. "You!" He hissed at the doll, like man. He grinned wickedly and smirked at Robin, quickly grabbing him by the neck.

"Ah, look what we have here! A little small boy with no adult around. How tragic," he chuckled and began to try and gas the small boy.

Robin trembled in Scarecrow's grasp, eyes widened with fear. He managed to kick the doll-like man in the stomach and ran away as fast as he could. Going up the stairs, a small whine came out of his mouth.

Suddenly, Scarecrow grabbed the freckled face boy and made him trip, hitting the stairs hard and almost shattering his goggles. He tried to kick the Scarecrow, but failed. Scarecrow laughed at Robin and attempted to gas hin again, holding the small boy down. It was like watching a nature video; Scarecrow was the lion and Robin was the elk. Robin began to panic and screamed, "Padre! Help me!"

No response.

Scarecrow laughed as he watched the small boy pass out. "Give up, kiddo. No one will save you. Not even your precious little Padre!"

Robin shook his head very slowly, his black beady eyes closing quickly. He felt so exhausted. Whatever was in that gas of the doll's, it was effective. Scarecrow grinned as he watched the boy fall asleep, coughing slightly.

Then, the most unexpected thing happened. Joker was right behind the Scarecrow and hit him hard with a pan he had grabbed from the kitchen. With a bang, the doll-like man was instantly knocked out. The clown grinned and said, "that's what you get for messing with me!" He then gasped and saw Robin's sleeping body. He picked the small boy up in his arms and whimpered.
"This isn't good," he said to himself, glancing over to the Scarecrow. He glared at him and growled, "why does he hate me so much? Why does he have to hurt this little guy?" He brushed his thumb over Robin's left freckled cheek and smiled softly. "He looks so peaceful." He then carried the boy back to Batman's bedroom, seeing his shocked face. He got up and looked at the Joker.

"What happened to Robin?!"

"Scarecrow," Joker replied flatly. "He knocked out the poor kid. I dunno why."

Batman bit his lip and ran down the stairs, ready to beat up the doll-like man. Joker giggled as he heard Scarecrow trying to beat up Batman. He sighed and looked at the small freckled boy, astonished how he could sleep throughout the fighting.
"Must be a heavy sleeper like me," he said to himself in a whisper. "Kind of nice."

He then laid the boy down on the bed and smiled. "If Bats and I ever were a thing, I would love to hang out with Boy Wonder more."

A smile crept onto Robin's face, a small blush forming. Joker tilted his head and tucked the little boy in. "Perhaps, I should tell him how I feel. Later, though. Daddy is busy with the Scarecrow."

With that, he sat beside the 12 year-old and smiled happily as he watched him sleep soundly. Robin was always so sweet and kind. Even to the meaniest of bad guys, he could always smile. The clown never understood why. Robin certainly was different. And the clown loved it.
