Running. Running was all the little green haired clown could do. He glanced over his shoulder and saw dust flying everywhere. Loud grunts and lasers could be heard. The environment was freezing cold. It had to be at least 5 below zero. It was snowing and large blocks of ice could be seen outside. Joker was inside of a ice-like palace. He could see his own breath and the palace was filled with dim lights. It looked as if he were in a partying room; a large dj set, rotten food, frozen beverages, and a slow, spinning disco ball with its lights turned off could be seen. He shivered slightly as he kept running. The cold was unbearable. His body threatened to shut down and curl up for warmth at any taken moment. Suddenly, two red laser beams cut through the ice walls and almost hit the clown as he ran away in panic. He could hear the familiar screams of a certain hero. Was it Batman?

Joker hid in a nearby corner and turned around. He saw an unexpected face that he would never expect to see.

But why was he here? Was this his home? His thoughts were interrupted when he saw Superman throw Batman into the wall. The clown gasped in horror as he saw the wounds on his nemesis.
Joker ran over to the Dark Knight and almost teared up at the horrid sight. He was covered in bruises, cuts and more. Blood poured out of his mouth as it hung open; jaw dislocated and a tooth missing. Joker could feel tears beginning to form in the corners of his eyes. The sight was too much for the clown to take in all at once.

Batman coughed up some blood into the arm of his sleeve. He looked up lazily and saw the Joker. He tried to talk but Joker shushed him. He turned around and saw a figure in the air. He wore a cape and blue outfit. Joker growled angrily and clutched his fist. He looked back at the injured caped crusader, his blue eyes beginning to close. Joker felt his formed tears roll down his pale, shivering face. He glared at the figure in rage and was about to attack him when suddenly, a hand was on his ankle. He turned around and made a confused noise. Batman stopped the Joker and had death written all over his face. The clown whimpered and looked at the flying figure again.
Should he fight for the Dark Knight?

Joker kneeled down to look at him in the eyes. Batman was out of breath and coughed more. Joker crept closer to the Dark Knight and was shocked as his icy-cold hands were grabbed. Batman then whinced in pain as he got up and hugged the Joker. He hugged back as he began to sob silently for the Dark Knight. Why did this hurt so much? Why did his enemy care about him so badly? He couldn't understand. He would never understand the Dark Knight.

Batman then pressed his forehead against the clown's, his blue illuminating eyes staring back into Joker's acid green. He gave a low chuckle before his body gave way and almost fell to the floor. The clown caught him and panicked.
"No, no, no! You can't die! Not like this! Please, Batman, we need you! Don't leave me! I need you!"

Then, all went black after a gut wrenching scream was heard from the Joker. Batman was gone...
