Batman sighed as he and Joker laid on the couch beside the roaring fire, holding each other in comfort. It had been little over thirty minutes since the tight wearing had interrupted he and the clown's beautiful moment. The Dark Knight was still grumpy about it. How could he have feelings for the hero after almost killing him? It was like dating a psychopath.
Oh wait...

The caped crusader smiled as he pulled out the small box from before, receiving a strange glance fron his beloved. He cupped the clown's cheek with his free hand, humming softly. Batman then gave his lover the small box, smiling proudly.
"This is for you. Open it," he whispered softly, kissing the other's cheek gently.

Joker smiled and nodded, his pale face grew warm. He looked at the small, dark blue box and hummed softly. It felt smooth like a snail's shell. The clown then slowly opened the box, revealing a small, emerald ring. He gasped as his beloved gently grabbed his left hand, placing the ring on Jokers index finger gently and kissed it. The clown teared up with happiness, wrapping his arms around the caped crusader's neck and choked out a sob.
"Oh, Batsy dear. This is the best day of my life! Well, this and that one time with me trying to be the king of the surfers."

Batman chuckled and pecked Joker's lips, cupping his cheeks with his gentle hands. He smirked and pulled up the clown onto his lap, holding the clown in place.
"You know, that's not an emerald."

"It's not?" Joker asked, rasing an eyebrow. "What is it then?"

Batman shrugged, chuckling to himself. He stroked the clown's sides and sighed softly.
"Don't worry about it. Nothing dangerous."

"Oh, I love dangerous!" Joker exclaimed, giggling into the Dark Knight's neck.

"I know you do, babe." The two sighed as they embraced each other. Let it be known that on this New Year's Eve night, the caped crusader proposed to his little clown, who gladly accepted.

Suddenly, the entrance to Wayne Manor opened. A butler and a brunette came through the door. Barbra sighed, rubbing the temple of her nose. This was going to be extremely awkward, and she knew it. "Think that Batman's going to freak out when he sees me?"

"I do not think so, Miss Gordon," replied Alfred, sighing softly. "It is for the best that you tell him your thoughts."

"Exactly. And I already know what to say," Barbra said, smiling slyly. "And, trust me; I got a lot to say."

Alfred nodded as they went inside the living room, greeted by the caped crusader. Joker was unseen, but behind the leather armchair that his beloved sat it.

"Hey, comiss. What's up?" Batman said as calm as possible, making the butler hit himself in the face.

Barbra smiled, sitting on the leather couch and faced Batman with a soft smile on her lips. There was a lot going on inside her mind. Why was Batman so awkward when they kissed? Was he angry? She couched into her arm, looking at the Dark Knight.
"I saw you with Joker. I have been wondering why you took him away. Got anything to say?"

Batman let out a stumped sound, biting his bottom lip nervously. Perhaps, now was a good time to tell Barbra about Joker and himself. And so...
"Okay, you really want to know? Fine. Joker and I are a thing."

"I called it," Barbra said, putting a hand on her forehead. "That's why you glared at me after the kiss, right? Because I kissed you?"

Batman slowly nodded and sighed. He could hear his little clown whimper softly. His cheek was pressed against the back of the armchair.
"Y-yeah. That's exactly why, actually. I didn't know how else to react. And then, Joker thought that I was dating you instead of him. He he called you Gordon Ramsay, by the way."

Alfred snickered, covering his mouth from laughing. He did not think that the clown would say something like that out of anger. It was adorable.

Barbra nodded and sighed, looking at her hands, "I'm really sorry for kissing you, Batman. I won't do that again. I promise. But, there is one thing we need to discuss."

"And that would be?" Batman asked, raising an eyebrow. It was good to hear the commissioner to apologize for what she had done. At least she was not like that pretty girl he had fallen in love with all of those years ago.

"It's about the Joker. Aren't you worried that he'll use you? Is he even the same?" She asked, eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes. He stole this from HotTopic a few days before Christmas for me," he said, pulling out his music box and winded it up. The little box began to play the Batman theme song slowly. Batman smiled at it and wiped thumb across the Bat symbol.

Barbra gasped, smiling at the little music box in wonder. She blinked and nodded, smiling softly.
"Did you try and stop him?"

"I did stop him, but he didn't want me to see What he stole. I gave it back to him." Batman smiled as the music stopped, placing the music box back into his pocket. Sighing softly, he looked at the commissioner, biting his lip.

"That is lovely of him, but it's against the law to steal. I thought you, of all people knew that," Barbra said, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, I do know that," said a small voice from behind the armchair. "You try going to a store without getting a call from the good ol' cops!"

Barbra's eyes widened as she recognized the voice. She looked at Batman, who was shushing whoever was behind him. She sighed, looking down.
"Alright. That's all I wanted to discuss. I have to go home now." The commissoner said, getting up from her spot. "Good night, Batman." And with that, she left without another sound.

Alfred heard the door close as he looked at the Dark Knight, raising an eyebrow, "how do you feel?"

"A bit better," said Batman, smiling as his fiance walked over to his side. "What do you think, Joker?"

He shrugged as he sat on the Dark Knight's lap, nuzzling into his chest gently. "It was fine. Should mind her owb bee's wax, though."

The butler nodded and chuckled. He then went off to bed, leaving the couple alone. He checked on the two sleeping boys, silenly opening the door and smiled softly at their sleeping faces. Alfred kissed both of their foreheads, chuckling silently. He then left without another sound to his own bedroom, sighing softly as he closed his door.
