"Bruce Wayne!" Joker exclaimed, jumping up from his bed with a giant gasp. He sighed, putting a hand on his forehead and rubbed it. It seemed silly, but he swore to Coca-cola that he had just seen Batman's true face. He looked like Bruce Wayne. His eyes were blue, starring at the villain uncomfortably. He looked all around the room, not seeing the caped crusader. He assumed that his beloved was on early morning patrol or something in that range.
"It must have been a dream. Batsy wouldn't show me his face. He doesn't tr-trust me..." His voice trailed off, looking down at the blanket with a sad expression. Did the hero reveal his face to the criminal? Did he pass out due to the sudden shock? He was unsure. It seemed so blurry. The clown bit his lip as it began to quiver. The Dark Knight never really did trust the clown from the beginning. Why should he now?Interrupting his thoughts, the man of the hour walked into the bedroom, giving a small yawn. He smiled at the clownas sat on the bed, his face had a small blush across it.
"How are you doing? You passed out in the backyard.""I-I did?" Joker asked, receiving a nod from the hero. He sighed and looked at the wall. "I think I'm alright. Thank you."
Batman nodded and moved closer to his fiance, reaching for his hand and grabbed it gently. He stroked his knuckles as his face grew warm. He looked at the index finger that had the kryptonite ring on it.
"I've got a bad feeling that he's gonna to return.""Me too, Bat Baby," Joker replied with a frustrated groan. "He's like some of my fans that pair me up with them. It's disturbing. Have you ever tried to tell them you're gay?"
Batman laughed and nodded, "yup. And they just give me a confused look and push me away. But then, they disappear. That's always disturbing."
The clown nodded and laid his head on the hero's chest, sighing softly. He kissed Batman's chin and smiled.
"I had a dream where you removed this lovely little mask of yours. You were Bruce Wayne."Batman was silent as he began to think hard. Maybe, he should try again with the Joker. Perhaps, he'll take it well this time around. He had to know eventually.
"If I show you my face, will you tell anyone, hate me, or leave me?"Joker quickly shook his head as he blinked rapidly. He was eager to see the caped crusader's true face. It was exciting. Better than anything in the world.
Batman nodded and covered the clown's eyes for a moment as he regained hinself. He hoped that the clown did not pass out again due to shock. He could hear the fans screaming, "seriously?! Wow." Batman began to remove his mask slowly, his eyes filled with worry. Once it was off, he bit his lip, taking in a deep breath through his nose.
"Open your eyes, Joker."Very slowly, the clown obeyed his soon-to-be husband's command, letting his eyes flutter and open slow. He was looking down at first, but allowed his eyes to trail upwards. Instantly, the went wide. His dream was correct.
"Bruce Wayne. You're Bruce Wayne!"Bruce sighed and nodded slowly. He was not ready to show the clown, however, he felt that it was the right thing to do before their marriage. But, of course, he wanted to know about the clown as much as possible. It was equal.
Joker touched Bruce's cheek with a hand and cupped it gently. He couldn't believe his eyes. Why would Batman be Bruce Wayne? That had nothing in common. Batman was perfect, and Bruce was, well, rich and boring. Why would a rich man want to be a crime fighter? He shook away his thoughts and blinked, his face grew warm.
"But, why would you be Batman? You're a rich man!""A rich man with a lot of problems," Bruce replied while looking down. "You wouldn't understand."
The caped crusader was about to put back on his Batman mask when, suddenly, Joker stopped him. He gave a gentle, reassuring smile as he pressed his forehead against the other's gently.
"I'm all ears, darling. If you tell me your little problems, I'll tell you why I am a villain."Bruce sighed and nodded in, somewhat, defeat. He backed away from the clown and bit his lip.
"When I was a child, me and my parents were at a theater. Afterwards, someone shot them. Since then, I was an orphan and Alfred, pretty much, adopted me. I was still a billionair, as you know, because of my parent's will. Then, I decided that on my eighteenth birthday to be a crime fighter."Joker nodded as the other finished. He had no idea that the Dark Knight lost his parents. It was unexpected. He did not know how to react. The clown saw that Bruce had tears forming in the corners of his blue eyes quickly. He comforted him with a hug as he began to tell his tale.
"My mother was killed by my father when I was seventeen right in front of me. He chased me to a large power plant that had a chemical waste area. I ran towards it and tried to toss my dad into it. And, well," he looked at his hands and sighed shakily. "My skin burned and turned pale. Instead of blond, my hair turned green. My eyes turned from sky-blue to horrid green. My eyes are the same color of those horrible chemicals. I managed to swim out, but some of the chemical waste got into my ears and messed up my head. That's why I'm-I'm deranged. My father was arrested once the police figured out who killed my mother. Since then, I ran away and began to start havoc in Gotham. And, I believe you know the rest, darling."Bruce nodded as he kissed Joker's cheek gently, seeing tears form in his acid green eyes. They hugged each other tightly, comforting each other in some way. May it be either a kiss or a coo of reassurance, they had their own way of comfort.
After a long thirty minutes, Joker began to laugh. He looked at Bruce as he began to calm himself slightly and sighed.
"You look better than any man I've seen, Brucey. But," the clown put on the caped crusader's head and adjusted it. Batman felt comfortable once more, which the villain noticed.
"If you feel comfortable with this on all the time, let me know. I don't mind it on or off. You're still you, and that's all I will ever need."Batman nodded as he held the clown close to himself. Giving a low chuckle, he nodded and asked, "what's your real name, J-bird?"
"Jack. Jack Nicholson," he replied as he began to slowly fall asleep on the Dark Knight's chest with a big smile. Batman smiled softly as he too fell asleep slowly, only to be woken up by Alfred who gave a low giggle. He went inside, out some waters on the drawer and left the cute couple be for the next hour or so.
