As Batman went around town on his patrol, he thought a lot about Joker and the Scarecrow. He couldn't understand why the doll-like man tried to strangle himself and the clown. Perhaps it was an act of vengeance? Who knows. All he knew was that the Joker was probably in critical condition due to the doll's wrath. His eyes shut closed as he remembered Joker's face, flooded with fear and anger. He had seen the clown like that before, but never to a fellow villain. It was very strange. Strange, indeed.

The Dark Knight took out his grappling hook and flew up to the top of a tall building. The air was thick with fog compared to the ground. The moon was popping out of the sky as the sun went down slowly. A twilight sky could be seen. It was a very beautiful sight.

He sat down untop of the building, taking a small five-minute break to rest his feet. The Dark Knight sighed and watched the clouds, wondering how he should tell the clown about his feelings. Of course, Batman was not good with emotions. Heck, when he first got Robin, he wanted to send him right back to the orphanage. But, Alfred showed him the ways of being a parent. And even though it started out bad, and sending the clown into the Phantom's Own, allowing his greatest enemy to release all of the universe's greatest villains, it turned out to be a great memory. He looked at his hook and smiled. He remembered the look on the little clown's face when he confessed his hatred. He gave a loud gasp in disbelief and replied with, "I hate you too!" Batman chuckled softly at the memory and smiled happily. He and the clown began to have a nice relationship togetehr. And then it hit the man in black like a bullet.
What if the Joker feels the same way? I mean, he has been acting weird around me, he thought to himself and frowned. But what if he doesn't? And if I was brave enough to tell him how I really felt, would he decline and leave?

He put a finger on his lip and thought harder. Joker couldn't leave the Dark Knight even if he wanted to. Batman knew that very well. After all, even if he did, he would always return. Joker proved that with the Phantom's Own. He returned with an army, which the caped crusader and his friends defeated as one. So, what would the Joker do then? Should Batman tell the clown how he truly felt?

Suddenly, a large crash was heard below the building. It shook like as if an earthquake had ruptured the Earth. Batman slowly moved to the edge of the building and looked down. A fire could be seen, setting half of the building aflame. Glass could be seen down below on the cement, signifying that several windows have been broken open. He tilted his head and a bit his lip, hearing something flying behind him. He turned around and saw that it was his 'buddy,' Superman; his eyebrows narrowed downwards, glaring at the Dark Knight. The caped crusader rolled his eyes and shrugged.
"What are you doing here, Clark?"

"Wondering why you're here, Bru-"

"Batman," the Dark Knight cut in. "And why do you care if I'm here?"

Superman chuckled and floated towards Batman, crossing his arms. The man in black felt very uncomfortable. There was something wrong here, but he couldn't figure it out. He moved to the left and saw the man in tights follow him. He turned his head back towards the destruction down below. He then looked back at Superman and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Did you do that?"

"What do you think Bru-"

"Batman," the Dark Knight cut in again, chuckling at the floating superhero.

"Okay, fine! Batman. I think you should know why."

Batman cupped his chin and thought for a moment. He looked at the superhero and chuckled. "Is this about me beating your sorry butt?"

"No," Superman replied flatly. "Try again."

Batman thought hard. What could Clark be so angry about now? Couldn't it wait until the next Batman vs. Superman movie? He sighed and shrugged. "You got me. I don't know."

Superman palmed his face and growled, "you stole my projector, sent Joker into the Phantom's Own, and unleashed the universe's baddest villains! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't one v one you!"

"Hey!" Batmam exclaimed, growling a bit. "I sent them back in! And you never invited me or Robin to that little Justice League 'meeting'! Besides, that happened over a week ago. If you want your projector, you kind of can't have it!"

"And why is that?!" Superman asked in anger, his fists clenched.

"It kind of went right back into the Phantom's Own! Otherwise, I would still have it," Batman replied, crossing hisarms and looking away from the angry superhero. He added, "besides, that thing is dangerous! It's for the best."

"For the best!?" Superman flinched in anger and grabbed the caped crusader by the neck, lifting him in the air. Batman grabbed Clark's hand and tried to make him let go. He couldn't breath, yet again, and glared at the tight wearing man. Superman smirked and floated to the edge of the building, looking at Batman. "Maybe getting rid of a useless superhero is a good idea after all, yeah?"

Batman shook his head, eyes widened. He tried to kick the other, failing miserably. Superman laughed as his victim panicked in his hand. "I might be a good guy, Bruce, but we all have to stop eventually. I think the world will be safer with me around."

"And where were you during all of the destruction!? If I weren't there to save everyone, y-you would have just laid back with all of your stupid friends and not even notice it!" Batman shouted, his face turning a little blue.

Superman rolled his eyes, "I was at the meeting! It was very important!"

"Important!? Important than saving the wo-world!?" Batman asked in an angry tone. Superman narrowed his eyes at the caped crusader, watching his enemy head towards the ground. The Dark Knight's eyes widened as he held onto his grappling hook for dear life, and shooting it at a flagpole. He swung towards the building and successfully landed ontop of it. He wiped his sweat covered face and trembled. Did Superman just try and kill the Dark Knight, again? He looked down and saw Alfred's car and smiled happily. "Thank, God!" He exclaimed, using his grappling hook to get onto the hood of the car. Alfred looked into his front view mirror, eyes widened. He let the roof of the car down for the caped crusader and saw him get into it.

"What happened to you, master Bruce? Why are you trembling?" Alfred asked, heading towards a dead end. Bruce shook his head and sighed.

"I'll tell you later."
