As the heroes returned back to Wayne Manor, Bruce got into his fluffy brown pajamas with his Batman mask still on. He looked at Alfred and sighed, "how's the Joker?"

"He is doing fine. I placed him on your bed as you wished. He has some injuries, however. I can attend to them if you would like," Alfred said, getting a cup of tea from the kitchen.

Bruce sighed and smiled, "thanks."

Alfred simply nodded and smiled, "you're welcome, Master Bruce. Now if I were you, I would check on our guest. Wouldn't you agree?"

Bruce nodded and huffed a puff of air out of a small part of his mouth. "True. In case he sneaks around and looks at my stuff, again."

Alfred left to go to his bedroom and yawned a bit. He watched as Bruce hurried to his bedroom.
Let's see how this goes, the butler thought.

Bruce slowly and calmly went into his bedroom, opening the door quietly. As he went inside, he heard the soft hums of the green-haired clown sleeping safe and sound. The Dark Knight walked over to the sleeping body and sat at the corner of the bed. He noted that the clown had a blush across his face. He didn't know exactly why, but Bruce shrugged it off.
For now.

Bruce sighed as he felt the smooth touches of drowsiness, he laid down, closer to the Joker.
I wonder why he tried to stop the Scarecrow, he thought. He could have let Robin and I take care of him. Why would he care if we got gassed?

Suddenly, a small yawn coming from his nemesis was heard. Bruce sat up and looked at the Joker. The clown rubbed his eyes and groaned in pain, coughing into his wounded arm. His eyes fluttered as he looked at the bedsheets, the blush from before grew bigger across his pale face. Joker looked up and blinked as he saw the familiar mask with blue illuminating eyes.
"Batman?" He asked in a small voice, unsure what to do. Joker began to tremble slightly but he calmed himself.

"Are you feeling alright? You got gassed by-"

"Scarecrow," they said in unison. "I know."

Batman shrugged, "of course you would remember. Just thought you would-"

"Forget?" Joker giggled as he cut Batman off again.

"Okay, you need to stop doing that!" Batman exclaimed in frustration. Joker giggled a bit more at this reaction and smiled. Batman cleared his throat and looked back at Joker.
"I have a question for you."

"And I have a question for you too, Batman," he replied.

Batman rolled his eyes for the third time and sighed, "you can go first."

Joker shrugged and nodded, "why did you bring me to Bruce Wayne's Manor..? I mean I know you two are roommates and all but, why am I here? Shouldn't Bruce be scared of me?"

Batman chuckled a bit. He wanted to think of a good response, and so he did. He replied, "old Brucey had to go on a, uh... a buisness meeting. He won't be back for a year so."
Joker nodded and tilted his head. Batman added, "and I brought you here because you're wounded. And you were knocked out, so."

"Aw, Batsy! How sweet!" Joker chimed and smiled.

"Eh, thanks."

Joker smiled at Batman, very adorable-like, and his eyes fluttered again. "So? What's your question?"

Batman cleared his throat and moved closer to the clown. "Well, I was wondering about something."

"Don't we all?" Joker replied sarcastically.
