A large snowstorm had finally hit Gotham City. Large snowflakes fell onto every building and all of the streets, covering it in a white blanket.

On this gorgeous night, Dick and Garfield were still awake, giggling at each other as they waited for midnight to come. The two boys were in a small tent-like fort with a dim, yellow flashlight turned on. Their shadows illuminated out on the yellow Batman blanket.

After a half an hour of giggling and whispering, it was finally eleven-thirty. The green boy gave a big yawn, his eyes became droopy. Dick was falling asleep slightly as he grinned at the other, sighing happily. He decided to tell his love that he was fully aware of his parents being long gone. And so, he did.
"You know, I-I kind of overheard you and Alfred earlier. I was always wondering why your parents never call us!"

Garfield nodded as his once happy smile disappeared and changed into a frown. He felt horrible for not telling the freckled face boy his past. It was uncomfortable for him. But now, he was ready.
"My parents were shot and killed by strange people who spoke a different language. I didn't see anything 'cause I was hiding. But then, someone came by the farm where me and my family lived on and found me. I was dehydrated and starving nearly to death. They took me in and put me in a foster care. I was seven when that all happened."

Dick nodded and nuzzled his shoulder gently, "I'm an orphan too, as you know. My parents were acrobats! They taught me how to jump to great heights, spin, backflip, and more! B-but, a strange man killed them during one of their special acts. I was supposed to join them, but I decided not too because I was shy. I was five years old. And then, they were killed." He looked down and clutched at the blanket, tearing up slightly. It was hard for the little boy to forget that dreadful day. Of course, the man was arrested and jailed for life, but the trauma would never go away. Not in an eternity.

Garfield gasped at what he had said, hugging the slightly older boy tightly in comfort. He knew that Dick was an orphan and guessed that his parents must have abandoned him. But murdered during a circus act? That is truely terrible.

Garfield nuzzled his lips into the freckled face boy's neck, kissing the soft, beige-ish white skin gently. He knew that losing the ones you have loved for so long was hard. He knew that Dick may never recover. But, at least the sidekick had him, Alfred, Joker and Batman by his side.
"I love you, Dick. I know it's hard, but we can get through this together. I know."

Dick nodded, wiping away his tears from his black, beady eyes as he giggled. He kissed the top of Garfield's head gently, humming softly.
"At least I have you and my family," he cooed softly.

Garfield smiled happily, kissing the slightly older boy's lips gently. Dick hummed and kissed back, wrapping his arms around the green boy's neck, deepening the kiss.

They pulled away and giggled at one another, their faces were the exact color of the insides of a watermelon. It was cute. Dick grabbed his flashlight and turned it off, kissing the green boy's cheek gently.
"Let's go to sleep so that Santa can come!"

Garfield nodded as he set the blanket down, covering the two gently. He nuzzled into Dick's chest, yawning softly. The two boys were just about to fall asleep, when all of a sudden, they heard the familiar bells of a sleigh. They looked at each other and giggled, slowly falling asleep as their magical idol came to visit them for a few moments and left, sleigh bells fading into the night.
