As the clock slowly ticked, two boys watched it impatiently. They wanted to go home oh-so bad. Dick wanted to introduce his father to Garfield so that they could have a play date that day. The green boy smiled and looked at Dick, poking at the center of his glasses.
"Why are glasses so blurry?" He asked with a smile.Dick smiled back at his friend and replied, "they might be blurry to you, but they help me see!"
"I know. I don't understand why they are so blurry! They make me feel queasy," Garfield said as the two giggled. He then heard the teacher shush them. They rolled their eyes and giggled silently to themselves.
"She's rude," the green boy whispered under his breath, sighing softly.
"Yeah, but she gives us cookies for doing good!" Dick exclaimed in a quiet whisper with a large smile, making the other laugh into his arm.
"You like cookies way too much!"
"I know. You can blame my grandpa for that," the Boy Wonder said, giggling softly at the green boy. "Plus, I think they're my favorite snack other than carrots."
"Carrots are good. As long as they have ranch on them, I can eat them!" Garfield said silently, looking at the smooth, wooden table that had his yellow number two pencil that was half-way sharpened. Beside it was the freckled boy's red and yellow pencil that was also half-way sharpened. He picked up his pencil and fidled with it in his fingers, moving it up and down. Dick smiled and did the same thing with his, earning a small laugh from his friend.
The two stopped as they heard the bell ring, running out of the classroom and headed towards the front door. The two giggled happily as they went past the many rows of lockers.
Suddenly, a large boy pushed Garfield against the long row of lockers, making the green boy flinch as his neck was grabbed. Dick gasped and saw that it was a boy, similar to the bully who hurt him over a week ago. The boy was skinny and had big, buffy arms and legs. He wore a dark blue t-shirt with sky-blue shorts. His buzz cut black hair glistened against the dim hallway lights. He had a wicked grin on his face, his brown eyes starred at his prey like a lion to a sheep.
Boy Wonder realised what was happening and grabbed the, slightly, larger boy's arm, only to be thrown aback into another row of lockers. His head hit one of the doors, making him groan in pain. He fell onto the cold, tiled floor and rubbed the back of his head. The skinny boy laughed at the freckled face boy and looked back at Garfield with a large grin. His eyebrows narrowed downwards into his eyes, making the victim in his hand tremble more. The green boy tried to speak, but the other boy's hand squeezed his throat, making him wince in pain.
Dick got back up on his feet, glaring at the bully. He slowly approached him, tapping his shoulder with his index finger. The large boy swung his free arm bullet fast at Dick, surprised to see that the boy had dodged. He then tried to grab the smaller boy's arm, but failed. He was quicker than the bully. Boy Wonder took this in account and ran three times around the bully and kicked him in the back, making the skinny boy jump. He dropped Garfield and grabbed his backpack, pulling out a baseball bat. He grinned at the two boys and gripped at the base of it, hitting it against the tiled floor. Dick began to run away with his friend, but was knocked down as the bully struck him hard with the bat. The freckled face boy's glasses fell onto the floor without breaking. The bully then grabbed the smaller boy by the ankle and beat him hard with the bat against his arms and back. The green boy gasped and turned around at the wounded freckled boy, looking at the bully with wide eyes. His best friend was now bleeding, whining in pain and agony as he looked at the bully with anger in his dark violet eyes. The slightly larger boy grinned at the green boy, his eyes starred back into his.
"What are you gonna do, freak? You can't do anything! You're useless!"Garfield's eyes began to tear up as he looked at the injuried boy who was now badly bruised. He looked back at the bully, his appearance began to change into a small sized triceratops shape. His body changed quickly, his size grew larger and his face had three horns on it now. His skin changed from a smooth green to rough reptile-like skin. He grew a large tail at the end of his rear, swaying it slowly.
Grafield had changed into the largest animal he could think of successfully. It was one of his goals to do this. And now, he had done it, but, with a purpose: to scare off the attacker.
Beast-like boy let out a dinosaur-like roar, startling the frozen solid bully. He dropped his bat and ran away from the green triceratops. The bully didn't stand a chance against the dinosaur. Unless he wanted to get three holes pierced through his body, then he could attack. But, somehow, he was smart enough to run away. Garfield then changed back into his normal self and ran to Dick's side, eyes filled with worry.
"Dick?! Are you okay?!"The freckled face boy nodded and got up, limping slightly. He hugged the green boy and smiled softly as he could feel the other's arms wrap around his body. "I'm okay. Thank you."
"No!" Garfield exclaimed, looking at the slightly older boy. "You saved me from that meanie first! So thank you!"
Dick laughed and smiled. He then felt his face grow warm slightly as he looked into the green boy's dark violet eyes. After a moment, the two seperated from the hug.
"Want to come over to my house? I'm sure my Padre won't mind! You can meet him!""Okay!" Garfield said as he and the, slightly, injuried boy walked out the door to a very worried Bruce Wayne. They had a lot to explain, but it was thanks to the protective little boy, saving the freckled face boy from getting severely hurt. He knew that it would be something that Batman and Robin would do. And it was the right thing.
