Connor looked around, taking in the cities view. The wind blew around him, and he smelled the sweet city air.

He loved coming up here. It was  a break from his lab, and a break from people.

"Connor? You're needed again." Connor sighed, trying not to show the new apprentice his anger. "And uh, maybe you should come inside anyway, because uh, a storm is coming and really think-"

"Thank you, Hansen." Connor said, picking up his lab coat from from the ground and putting it on.

"Um, I'm, I'm sorry sir, but uh, am I, am I needed? My uh, my girlfriend is uh, she's, she's kind of uh, mad at me for some reason, and I don't know why, so-"

"You're dismissed, Hansen." Connor couldn't help the small smile from his lips. "Just go deal with your sassy girlfriend. I don't want you to be in so much trouble she won't let you come to work." Connor said jokingly.

Evan gave a forced smile, chuckling. "Thank you, sir. Uh, so, here's what Doctor Mushnik said to give you, so uh, here you go!"

"Thank you, Hansen. I'll see you tomorrow."

Evan smiled, taking his coat off and rushing out the door, clearly worried.

Connor sighed when he heard the door close behind Evan, leaving him all alone in his lab. He glanced at the paper he was given, smiling slightly when he saw how simple of a task it was.

He grabbed a vile, ignoring the raging storm starting up. He rolled his eyes as the power around his building started to go out, and he smirked to himself.

At least I'm in here, and not on the building. Connor thought to himself as he added the red liquid to a beaker. I bet I would've been struck with lightning or something.

Bam!

Connor felt the electricity travel through his body. He thought he screamed, but he couldn't hear anything. The ringing in his ears and the pumping of his blood was too much. He could feel everything and it was ruining him.

Eventually, he felt well enough to stand up. He awkwardly grabbed the table, his hip bumping against it.

Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a beaker start to tip over the side.

Before Connor even realized it, he'd grabbed it and placed it gently back on the desk.

He stopped, freezing in place. He studied his hand slowly, standing up fully.

He looked at the other side of the lab, and ran to the other side.

Before he could blink, he was there. Paper was all over the floor, and he had knocked over a few beakers, but he was there.

"Holy shit," Connor said out loud. "I'm fast."
