"Where... uh, where are we going? If it's not a surprise. If it is, uh, don't tell me, obviously, I just, kinda uh, I just wanted to know?"

Connor grabbed Evans hand, rubbing it between his fingers soothingly. "Hey, it's okay. We're just gonna go see a movie. Is that okay?" Connor asked, already used to Evans paranoia.

"Yeah! No yeah, totally. I'm uh, I'm totally... up for that." Evan smiled, taking a deep breath. "Uh, so uh, is it gonna be... crowded?" He asked, trying to seem nonchalant.

"I don't know, but, you're gonna like this part, Ev, but it's a drive-in movie, so we can just stay in the car. I brought blankets, and some snacks, and... basically whatever we'll need. Sound good?"

Evan smiled wide, giving himself enough confidence to leaned over and press a kiss onto Connors cheek. "Yes. Yes yes, thank you so much. You didn't, uh, you didn't have to do all of this for me."

"How else am I supposed to spoil the fuck out of you?" Connor asked. "And besides, this is nothing. Just a wait until our anniversary."

Connor pulled up to the venue and paid for tickets, making sure to hold Evans hand so he didn't panic. They eventually found a good spot, and Connor pulled out the blankets and snacks.

"You okay?" Connor asked again, noticing Evan starting to lean his head down.

"Yeah, I just... uh, is it okay if I..." Evan trailed off, pointing to Connors shoulder.

Connor nodded, and moved so that Evan could comfortably lean his head onto Connors shoulder. Connor then wrapped the blanket around the two, and underneath held Evans hand once more.

Connor placed his other hand on Evans back, soothingly running his hands up and down Evans back.

The boy's eyes widened as the movie back to play, and they enjoyed the early June weather in a tranquil silence.
