I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a few days!
This is gonna be just a short little fluff to make up for my absence
"Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay."
"Yeah, you saying 'okay' over and over again makes me feel like you aren't okay. Do you want me to order for you?" Connor asked gently, placing a comforting hand on Evans shoulder. Evan didn't stop shaking.
"No! I mean, I'm sorry, no, I just, uh, I can do it. I can order."
"Evan," Connor started. "As Jeremy would say 'Dude, babe, bro. Chill.' It's okay. I can order for you." Connor nonchalantly put his hand back on the table, looking through the menu.
"Yeah, But, but what, am I just gonna make you order for me every time we go out? Am I just gonna be the weak forever? I'm just, I just, I just need to suck it up, and, and I need to toughen up or you're gonna leave me, so-"
"Evan, you can't just 'suck it up' with anxiety. That's not how it works, love." Connor said, putting his menu down. "And besides, I'm not gonna leave you. You have anxiety, and that's okay. I'm here to help you." Connor pointed to the menu. "So, were you wanting to split a pizza, or-?"
"Wait, you... can you just say... ugh." Evan mumbled, flustered. "Can you... never mind."
"Evan." Connor said, holding Evans hands tight. "I love you. With the social anxiety and everything. I'm not gonna leave you because you can't order. One day you're gonna be able to order. Just because you can't right now, doesn't mean I hate you. It's no trouble for me to order for you, but if one day in the future you want to order for yourself, by all means, go for it. But for now..." Connor trailed off, pointing to the menu. "Is there something you want? I'll eat anything. Honestly, I will."
"Oh, well, uh-"
"Are you boys ready to order?" A woman with a southern accent asked, smiling at the two boys.
"Actually ma'am, I think we need another minute or-"
"Yes, we are." Connor stopped abruptly, allowing Evan to speak. "Can we... can we have a, a uh," Connor squeezed Evans hand under the table, and Evan sat up straighter. "Can we have one large Hawaiian pizza? To split. Please."
"Sure! One large Hawaiian, coming up. Anything else boys?"
"Nah, that's all." Connor said, giving the waitress a smile. "Thanks."
As soon as she walked away, Connor praised Evan. "Holy shit. Baby, that was amazing! I'm so proud of you. Look at you, ordering and shit. You know you didn't have to do that, right?"
"Yeah, I know." Evan said, smiling wide. "But... you give me confidence. You know um, in that one video game, when the character is like 'you're filled with determination' or whatever? You uh, you're like that. To me. You... fill me with determination."
"Evan, truly, and honestly, that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me besides that one time where you accidentally said that you thought I was smoking hot in front of the whole class. But like other than that..."
"You're dead to me."
"Awe, I love you too."
