Day 661
Monday 18th June 2018

The kids still aren't back and we're all feeling pretty tense. Trudy's been pacing all over the house like  a woman possessed but I think she's come to realise that there's no pout on going out as she's no idea where Richard and the kids could be.

We've all been taking it in turns to keep watch for Richard so we can prepare for his arrival and get Tara and Mike hidden away. It's all felt pretty tense. He could turn up at any time – even in the middle of the night. That's why we're taking it in turns to do night shifts.

I don't know why Richard isn't back yet. Maybe he's playing with us? Mind games and all that. It wouldn't surprise me. Mind you, Richard's the sort of sociopath that would want to see us all suffering, so I'm confused as to why it's taking him this long to come and gloat and revel in the misery he's caused. Maybe something's happened to him? Maybe he's hurt? Maybe the kids are more at risk than we thought. I shared my thoughts with Esther. "Well even if that's true, there's not much we can do about it, is there?" she said, "Whether the kids are being looked after or whether he's neglecting them there's literally nothing we can do." "Well if they're not back soon, I'm going to go out looking for them," said Trudy, "I don't care what anyone says; at least I'll feel like I'm trying – like I'm doing something."

Tara and Mike went out on a run today. Personally I thought it was a bit stupid. They could have bumped into Richard, it might have all kicked off and then we'd have never got the kids back. Anyway, they came back in one peace with a few more supplies. "Look what I found," said Mike, with a big smile on his face and holding up two big bottles of vodka. "Oh that's a great idea," said an angry Esther, "People are being killed and kids are being kidnapped but as long as you can get p*ssed, everything's fine." "I don't like what you just said," said Mike, giving Esther a tense stare, "And I'm starting to get angry." "Oh calm down Grotbags," said TJ, "It's just a drink. Christ, after everything's that gone on I think we could all do with a drink." "Your kids are out there with a psycho and all you want to do is drink booze?" said an angry Esther. "Your kid's out there too," said TJ, "The difference is I didn't give my kid away and leave it to some greasy faced f*cker to bring him up." "Can we please not get into a fight?" said Tara. "I just don't think getting p*ssed is a good idea considering our current situation," said Esther. "No one has to get p*ssed," I said, "Maybe we could just have a little drink to steady our nerves." "Yeah Nanna's right," said TJ, "And if Richard turns up it might give us some Dutch courage."

I'm going to finish my diary now and then re-join TJ and the others for a quick drink. I feel bad for having vodka when my son (that still feels weird to say) and the twins are out there somewhere with that nutter Richard, but there's nothing we can do until Richard actually shows up and sitting here worrying about isn't going to change anything. I just hope he comes back soon. I'm not sure how long we can take the tension.
