Day 754
Wednesday 19th September 2018

Well, we all met our estranged family members today and whilst it was all a bit weird and for me, annoying at times, the day ended on a very positive note.

Those of us that managed to get some sleep, woke up feeling rather anxious. We knew that today was going to be a big day and that not only were we getting ready to be reunited with our estranged family members, but we were also getting ready to tell them not to hand the destination codes over to Goyle. I was sat on the end of my bed nervously biting my nails as others were anxiously pacing up and down. "God, I feel really nervous," I said. "Why, didn't you and your Mum get on?" asked Richard. "It's not that," I said, "It's just that we haven't seen each other in years. We're practically strangers. I was eighteen when she moved away for work. I haven't seen her since." "Yeah, well, I'm not nervous," snapped Trudy, "F*ck knows why my Dad wants to see me. He was a sh*t Dad. He moved away for work years ago and none of us heard a peep out of him since. I'm going to tell him he's a pr*ck, get my son back and get out of here." "What about you and Mike?" I asked TJ, "What are you going to say to your Dad?" "Not sure," said TJ, "I was always my Dad's favourite but after how he treated our Mum and all the other stuff he got up to, we all stopped talking to him. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike tries to kill him the second he lays eyes on him." "Well he can kill my Dad to if he likes," said Trudy. "Listen to yourselves," exclaimed Roz, "These people have risked their lives and gone through a sh*t load of stress to get you here. They obviously care about you." "If they cared about us, they wouldn't have left it years to get in touch," said Trudy. "Well like I said," said Roz, "The end of the world puts things into perspective for you. Maybe your parents cared for you more than you thought." "Hmm," said a sceptical Trudy, "They probably thought that getting us all here like this would make them feel less guilty for being so sh*t." "Well I don't know why Ash wanted me here," said Naomi, "He never kept in touch with me but I never kept in touch with him." "Christ, just stop analysing things and be grateful that there are people out there who A) are in a position to help you out and B) actually want to help you." "Well I still think Dad is hiding something from us," said Mia. "Mia, will you stop calling him Dad?" said TJ. "What?" said Mia, "He IS my Dad." "Yeah but it sounds weird," said TJ, "Especially as most of us in here want to kill him." "I think Mia's right, though," I said, "Harold's hiding something. I think he knows more about how the virus got out than he's letting on." "Well maybe he does," said Naomi, "But for now, let's focus on getting the kids back and getting our families NOT to hand the codes over so we have an increased chance of not being shot."

We continued talking about our situation for an hour or so longer when all of a sudden we heard Harold's voiced on the Tannoy system and echoed above. "Good morning ladies and gentleman," he said, "This is Harold speaking. I'm sure you've all been wondering when we will be reuniting you with your family members. Well the wait is over. I am pleased to tell you that you are now going to be escorted out of this room, down the corridor and into another room where your family members are waiting for you." "Well how are we going to get out of here?" asked a blunt TJ, "There's no door." "Yeah, what's going to happen?" asked Trudy, "Are they going to air lift us out?" All of a sudden the roof of the large white clinical room that we were in slid open and retracted back into the top of the connecting walls. I guess I was expecting something to appear above us but imagine my surprise when the four white walls of our clinical white prison, suddenly started to descending into the ground. "What the f*ck is going on?" said TJ. We all started turning around and looking at the four walls as they very quickly sunk into the ground and disappeared. The beds and the toilet areas of the room also submerged into the floor. This was very weird. We were all now stood in a large white area but it was nothing like the clinical room we'd been in over the last few days. It was like we were in the middle of nowhere; a bit like some sort of limbo. We were surrounded by nothing but the colour white. We couldn't see where the walls were, or if in fact there were any walls at all. We had no idea how high the ceiling was and we had no idea how long the floor went on for. We all exchanged strange and rather worried looks. "Christ, this is well freaky," said Trudy. "Well what are we meant to do now?" said Naomi. "Over here," a voice from behind said. We all turned round to see an ACROBAT soldier wearing the usual black PVC get-up. He was standing in a doorway, but due to the extreme whiteness of our surroundings it looked like he was stood in some sort of portal to a parallel world. We all walked over to the armed guard with an air of caution. "Stay close," said Naomi, "This is ACROBAT we're talking about. We know they can't be trusted."
