Day 682
Monday 8th July 2018
It all kicked off with Trudy today but surprisingly it was Rocky who resolved the situation.
We were all sat in the main room talking about our situation and when we needed to go out on another run when Trudy appeared in front of us. She had with a large spade from Parrissa's parents shed in her right hand and her backpack in her left. "Right then," she said, "I'm off." TJ, Mike and I visually looked at each other signalling looks of collusion. Everyone else gathered round and of course, started asking lots of questions. "You're off?" said a confused and concerned Mia. "She's not off, off," said Parrissa, "She just smells a bit pongy." "I'm going to The Base, to get Goyle," said Trudy, ignoring Parrissa. "Goyle?" said Auntie Meryl, "What's a Goyle?" "I think it's one of those stone statue thingies," said Parrissa. "That's a gargoyle," Naomi bluntly said. "Trudy you can't go," said Mia, "Think of Primark." "I'm thinking of Aldi," said Trudy. "Well I don't think the shops are going to be open," said Parrissa. "TJ can look after Primark," I said, "I've got a score to settle with Goyle. My son is dead because of him and those ACROBAT f*ckers so I'm going to kill him." "No, you can't!" exclaimed Mia, "It's too dangerous. You'll be killed. We all need to stay together." I handed Leo to Auntie Meryl, stood up and approached Mia and Trudy. "It's OK Mia," I said, "I'll sort this out." I gave Trudy a firm look. "Sorry Trudy," I said, "You're not leaving." "You what?" snapped Trudy. "He said you're not leaving," said Parrissa. "I'm sorry but we can't let you leave," I said, "So you're staying here and that's that." "Oh that's that is it?" said a confrontational Trudy, "What if I don't want to stay here? Who's going to make me stay?" At that point TJ and Mike stood up and stood beside me as we presented as a united front. "What the f*ck is this?" snapped Trudy. "Sorry Trudes," said TJ, "But this is an intervention." "You don't even know what an intervention is," snapped Trudy. "Is it when you go on dragon's den with an idea?" asked Parrissa. "That's invention, Parrissa," I said. "We can't let you go," I said, "And if we have to - we'll stop you." "Stop me!?" exclaimed, "You couldn't stop a fart without sh*tting yourself," said Trudy, "I'm going and that's that." "You're not going," I firmly said. "Kiss my flaps," snapped Trudy, "I'm off." Trudy started to walk away but that's when TJ, Mike and I leapt into action. The three of us jumped on Trudy, wrestled her to the floor and did our best to keep her pinned to the floor. Lots of shouting and screaming followed. Trudy kicked TJ in the face, busting his lip and she punched me hard on the nose, causing blood to pour our oy nostrils. "STOP IT!" shouted Mia, as she came and stood over us all "JUST STOP! We need to stop fighting amongst ourselves." "F*cks sake," exclaimed TJ, "I'm bleeding." "You try and stop me from leaving you'll lose even more blood," snapped Trudy, "You might not want to get justice for Aldi but I do. F*cking useless father."
We continued bickering when Rocky stepped forward. He knelt down and put his hand on Trudy's shoulder. "I know you want justice," he calmly said to her, "You blame this Goyle bloke for Aldi dying and you think if you kill him that this will bring you justice. Or maybe even revenge. I can understand that. If someone killed someone I loved I'd want them dead. I'd want to see them suffer." "Exactly," said Trudy, "So you know what I mean." "Yeah," said Rocky, "But look." He pointed over to Auntie Meryl who as holding Aldi. "That's your other son," said Rocky, "He's alive. Focus on what you still have, not what you've lost. If you go out there on your own without a vehicle and you get killed you'll leave Aldi without a mum. He's already lost his twin brother, don't do something that might make him lose his mother." There was a pause. Trudy looked a bit guilty. Rocky was getting through to her. "Aldi needs his mum a lot more than you need revenge." There was another pause. Trudy then burst into tears and Rocky gave her a hug. "Let it all out," he said. TJ and I attended to our wounds and left Rocky with his arms around Trudy. He'd done a great job at calming her down because of this she reluctantly decided to stay.
Later in the afternoon I was sat with Auntie Meryl and Leo when Naomi came up to me. "I'm getting really worried about that Rocky," she said. "What are you on about?" I said, rolling my eyes. "His behaviour concerns me," said Naomi. "Oh God, not this again, I said, "It's thanks to him that Trudy's still here with her son instead of going up there on her own on some suicide mission." "Exactly, why is he so keen for us all to stay together?" asked Naomi. "He never said anything about wanting us all to stay together," I exclaimed, with a frown, "Anyway what's wrong with us all staying together?" "Nothing," said Naomi, "I just want to know why he was so keen for Trudy to stay. He's hardly said two words to here since he got here." "God, Naomi," I said, "You never used to be this suspicious. Rocky's just a nice guy that wants to help. It's not that he's got some secret agenda to keep Trudy here; he just wants to a mother to be near her son." "He's been asking Mia load of questions," said Naomi. "Ugh, God," I said, "Well if it's anything other than 'what's your name' I think he'll struggle to get an answer." "He's been asking her questions about her Dad; Harold, her real Dad," said Naomi, "He's been asking her what she thinks of him, if she loves him if she wants to see him again." "So!?" I loudly said. "So, why is he asking so many questions?" exclaimed Naomi, "He's been asking how we all met and who used to be part of our group?" "Oh this is OUR group now is it?" I said, "I didn't think you wanted to have anything to do with us." "Oh grow up Luke," said Naomi, "Doesn't this guy's behaviour worry you?" "No," I firmly said, "I think he's a nice guy that's been helping us out. If anyone's behaviour worries me around here, it's yours. Yours and Janine's. Just leave Rocky alone." Naomi walked off. I really don't know what her problem is. It's like she hates and is automatically suspicious of everyone, which is ironic because the one person who she doesn't seem to hate or be suspicious of, who she should be, is bl**dy Janine.
I was sat having a drink of water just before bed when the ginger cat appeared. He appeared out of nowhere, jumped on my laptop and then ran off into the nooks and crannies of the power station. I gave a loud girly scream and nearly dropped my water. "God, that f*cking cat!" I loudly said, "That's the second time he's scared the sh*t out of me!" God knows where the frigging feline is or what he's living on. I just need to keep my eyes open. I don't think my heart can take anymore cat related shocks.
