Different Newtmas (Maze #8)

Chapter 2

THOMAS POV:

"What are you doing" asked Chuck. 

"I'm just gonna take a look" I said. 

"No you can't, we're not suppose to leave" said Chuck. 

"What's out there" I asked. 

"I don't know, I just know what I'm told. That I'm not suppose to leave" said Chuck. 

Two men came out of the opening. I was confused. 

"Hey Chuck, new greenie. How does it feel to promoted" asked one of the runners. 

"Feels great Ben" said Chuck. 

"I thought no one was aloud to leave" I said. 

"I said we're not aloud to leave. They're different, they're runners. They know more about the maze than any one" said Chuck. 

"Maze" I asked. 

"What" Chuck asked. 

"You just said maze" I said. 

"I did" asked Chuck. 

"Ya" I said. 

I started walking up to the maze. 

"What are you doing" asked Chuck. 

"I'm just getting a closer look" I said. 

"I already told you, you can't. Especially not right now" said Chuck. 

"I won't leave" I said. 

I slowly started walking up to the maze. 

"HEY" Gally yelled. 

I was picked up and thrown away from the door. I laid on the floor as Gally walked up to me. 

"We got to stop meeting like this greenie" said Gally. 

"Get away from me" I said angrily standing up. 

"Okay calm down" Gally yelled putting his hands out. 

Every one started running up to us. 

"WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS" I yelled. 

"Just calm down" said Newt. 

"NO, WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME WHATS OUT THERE" I yelled. 

"We're trying to protect you" said Alby. 

"It's for your own good" said Newt. 

"YOU GUYS CAN'T JUST KEEP ME HERE" I yelled. 

"We can't let you leave" said Alby. 

"WHY NOT" I yelled. 

NEWT POV:

There was a sound in the maze. The greenie turned around and some wind blew in our face. The doors started closing. The greenie watched in shock. The doors closed and were sealed. 

"Next time, I'm gonna let you leave" said Gally. 

He then left. Every one else started leaving. 

"Welcome to the glade" said Alby. 

He left and the greenie looked at me. I left and went back to work. The greenie spent the rest of the night walking around the glade. When it was night the gladers threw a party to welcome him. Like they do with every greenie. I really wish I new his name. 

"LIGHT EM UP" Alby yelled. 

We threw torches at a wooden statue and it started to burn. People cheered and danced. I myself am also really happy. I'm no longer the only halfing. After all the commotion I sat with the greenie and finished eating. I know I need to talk with him before he blows everything. 

"Bit of a first day greenie" I said looking at him. 

He just nodded. 

"Here, put some hair on your chest" I said handing the greenie my drink. 

He took a sip and spit it out. I laughed a little as I ate. 

"Oh my god, what is that" asked the greenie. 

I took my drink and laughed a little. The greenie coughed some more. 

"I don't even know" I said holding the drink. 

I looked behind me and back at the greenie. 

"It's Gally's recipe" I said. 

I looked behind us again. Mostly to make sure no humans can hear us. 

"It's a trade secret" I said looking back at the maze. 

"Ya well he's still a jerk" said the greenie. 

"He saved your life today. Trust me, we're different from them" I said. 

I took a sip of my drink. 

"We're trapped here, aren't we" said the greenie. 

"They are" I said.
