Different Newtmas (Maze #8)

Chapter 5

NEWT POV:

"Okay, but is there even a exit" asked Thomas. "Yes, you need to kill a griever to find it" I said. "So you don't know where it is" said Thomas. "We don't need to kill a griever" I said. Thomas was confused. "But you just said we do" said Thomas. "Hold out your hand" I said. Thomas was still confused but held out his left hand. I grabbed my knife and cut his palm. "Hey" Thomas said angrily. We still feel pain but our skeleton is actually half machine. (with that thing in their brain) Thomas started bleeding and held his hand. "Is there medal inside me" he asked looking at his hand. "Yes, that is what makes us different. We are half machine. The humans don't like us so when the war broke out WCKD created the maze and had humans sent here for safety but in truth they are trapped here and the grievers and us are suppose to make sure they don't make it out alive" I said. "But weren't we human before" Thomas asked. "No, your memory from before will later come back but we were never human. It's not possible" I said.

"Then won't they just remember the war" asked Thomas. "No, they only remember their names. Every thing else is whipped clean from their memory but if they find out what we are then they will get their memory back" I said. "So how do you know where the exit is" asked Thomas. "There is machine in our brains so we can find it" I said. Thomas was still confused. "Come on" I said. I picked up the sheet and covered the map back up so the runners won't know we were here. 

THOMAS POV:

We left and walked up to the maze walls. "What are you doing, I thought nothing can get past these walls" I said. "The grievers can't cause they can't climb and the humans find it pointless so they don't. They tried to climb it but the vines were weak and broke" said Newt. He started climbing the vines. I followed him and we reached the top. We went to the other side and climbed down into the maze. "Are you sure the grievers won't hurt us" I asked. "No, as long as you leave them alone they will leave us alone" said Newt. 

"What do they look like" I asked. "They are giant robotic spiders, but like I said they won't hurt us" said Newt. He started running and I followed. We ran passed a few grievers and they ignored us. We kept running and entered section 3. We ran till we came across giant wooden things (the blades). We stopped and walked a little bit. I started to feel a small buzzing in my head. "You feel that buzzing" asked Newt. "Ya" I said. "That's the device in your brain. It's leading us to the exit" said Newt. We started getting closer to the exit and I felt the buzzing more and more. We made it to another wall and it opened. I was amazed. We walked threw a tunnel with a path. I looked down below the path. "Come on, it's this way" said Newt. I followed him to the end. The buzzing stopped and I felt a click. Three walls opened up. The fourth wall had a whole that opened up. Newt and I walked closer. "This is where the grievers go. Each section has this" said Newt. We stopped and looked inside. A small red light scanned us up and then down. "What was that" I asked. "A scanner, if a human was here then the maze would stopping closing every night" said Newt.
