Gamer of the Dead

Book 2, Chapter 55:

A small commotion started at the back of the room as a new batch of individuals is ushered inside the warehouse. Many of them are players, and many are ready to either fight or ran or both. Bobby can easily see the telltale sign of inventory getting prepared to open to liberate weapons, and mana getting gathered around the spellcasters.

The people from the underworld are responding with their own act of aggressiveness since they didn't trust the new guys and they are showing it. Shane noticed Danding readying his broadsword and Shane readied double short sword as well as he eyed the newcomers.

Bobby breath a sigh of relief when he noticed the last group of people finally arrived, and so he didn't need to repeat himself to the late ones. They were a group of players. Darnell can be easily seen since he is one of the tallest players that just arrived. He arrived with his new team, along with the old one. Bobby recognized Jenna, Nicky and of course Billy. Then there was his own team, Amara, Cynthia, and even Gorio. Lastly, Alex and her team were in the rear of the group.

"Alex!" Someone shouted in the crowd, and Daniel's face emerged from the back. Alex's face felt relieved, and she immediately went to him. Andrea was inconspicuously behind and following them. When she caught Bobby looking at her, he nodded gratefully at her, and she acknowledged it with her own slight bow. Andrea was the one who brought them, and since her job is done, she drifted near her siblings who are all staying in one corner near Diego and his poker buddies.

Many of the new arrivals recognized Bobby in the middle and relaxed a bit. But are confused again when they heard from their neighbor what Bobby intended to do. Then they became even more flabbergasted when Bobby himself repeated his plan for everyone to understand.

"I intend to replace the current base command with new management," Bobby said evenly.

"Are you fucking out of your mind?!" Alex shouted at him. "You're telling me that this is what you are doing these last two days?!"

Bobby ignored his sister's outburst and proceeded to outline his plan to take over the command of the base.

It was a simple plan. The main Headquarters is on the north side of the base of an L-shape three-story building. Mostly clerks and other administrative staffers manned the building, but there are also a small barracks that house at least 12 teams, about 60 mid-range players, the elite men and women of the base commander that serves as the core of the base defense force. There is also a small canteen that serves food for the players and staffers in the entire building.

The cook can be easily bribed or threaten to add sleeping potion to the current food, while a detachment of 50 men, not necessarily fighters, can surround the place and intercept any escapee. Then Bobby alone or with a group of select fighters can enter the headquarters to subdue what is left of the resistance and seize the base commander himself.

At the same time, a small force will proceed to the militia watch headquarters on the east side. This will be headed by a trusted lieutenant of the underground family or by Melissa herself. The familia nostra claim to have access to a level 6 mage with decent mind magic skills. She can change the appearance of one person for just over ten minutes. It should be more than enough time for Melissa (or her lieutenant) to march into the headquarters with a predetermined face that is taken from one of the most recognized advisers of the base commander that is always in the base HQ. They will present the Watch Captain a semi-official letter prepared in advance to arrest him and with orders to bring him to the Base HQ. Then Melissa or a designated Lieutenant will take over the watch and install her people to critical places to control it.
