Suddenly, it felt like we were flying, everything around us becoming a blur as he zoomed in and out of traffic. How could he even see what he was doing?

We were going way too fast, but for some reason, I felt safe. At that speed, we made it to my apartment complex in no time at all. I was a little disappointed because I was having so much fun on the bike.

He pulled up in front of the building and took his helmet off, shaking his short hair out. I removed mine and passed it to him.

"Thanks for the lift." I said, climbing off the bike.

Clumsy me, my foot gets stuck when I try to bring it over the bike, and I see the pavement coming up to meet my face.

Two strong arms catch me before I hit the ground, lifting me off of my feet then setting me back down straight. I turned to thank Mike, but he was still on the bike.

Colby stood in front of me, in all of his angry hotness. Damn it, why was I so attracted to this jerk? And what in the hell was he doing here?

"Where did you come from?" I stuttered out, in surprise.

He didn't answer me, just looked at Mike. "You should have been watching her. She almost busted her face."

Mike returned his gaze then looked at me. A smile curved his lips, and his eyes lit up a little. "Yeah, sorry about that. Didn't realize you were so clumsy."

I rolled my eyes and flipped him off. I couldn't even deny it. I was super clumsy, at the worst possible times.

"Pay more attention next time." Colby growled at him, his voice low and rough. There were those chills again, racing up my spine. I shivered and Colby glanced at me, a tiny bit of softness in those hard eyes maybe? I must be imagining it. "You can go now." He said, demanding. I bristled.

"I'm good, thanks. What are you doing here? How do you even know where I live?" He licked his lips as he stared at me for a few agonizingly long seconds, before catching his bottom lip in his teeth.

My eyes were locked on his mouth and I wasn't even ashamed about it. I had the urge to just jump him and press my own lips to his but I controlled myself. He would probably toss me into the street anyways, since he hated me for some reason.

"Kat told me. When I saw you leave with Mike on that death machine, I though I better check to make sure you both made it alive." I moved my gaze from his mouth to his eyes, those bright blue ocean eyes.

"Why do you care?" I asked, shrugging. "You've made it pretty clear all night that you don't like me for some reason."

He dragged his hand through his hair and I noticed that his rings were gone...oh, and he was wearing a shirt.

A faded black t-shirt, with tiny grey stripes that you could barely see. It looked good on him. Of course, I think he could be wearing a damn tutu and he would still look good.

"Mike is my brother, and I don't dislike you. I don't know you."

I looked at Mike, with surprise on my face. "You guys are brothers?"

He laughed and shook his head. "No, not blood. More like, best friends, but close enough to be brothers."

I felt dumb. "Oh okay." I turned back to Colby. "You could've fooled me. You've been acting like a total dick all night. What is your problem? You treat me like shit, when we first meet, and then follow me home to see if I'm alive. That makes no sense!" I was almost yelling now, emphasizing my point with my hand movements.

Colby just raised one eyebrow at me, and waited for me to finish yelling. "Are you done?" He asked, rudely.

"Not really. I could keep going." I retorted, just as rudely.

"Yeah, okay. Well, you're both alive. I'm going home. See ya Mike." He turned on his heel and walked away.

I was stunned...again. How the hell does this guy that I literally met an hour ago keep doing this to me? My emotions were going crazy. I watched him walk up to a...no freaking way. He opened the door on a red Toyota Corolla and started to get in.

"Colby!" I yelled.

He turned, holding his car door open. "Yeah?" He asked, impatiently.

Why did I call him? Because you didn't want him to leave, you dumb ass.

"Thanks." I said, staring at him.

I knew I was blushing again. I could feel it.

He furrowed his brow, like he didn't understand me at all. Hell, I didn't understand me either, right now. I especially didn't understand him. I was just all around utterly confused. He nodded at me, then sat down in his car, closing the door.

I watched him sit there for a second before Mike got my attention.

"Chloe?" I turned back towards his warm voice to find him still sitting on his bike. "Do you need me to walk you up or anything?"

Aw, wasn't he the gentleman. I might actually really like Mike, if it were a different time. If I weren't obsessing over some blue haired jerk that was making my insides twist in on themselves. I shook my head, and gave him a small smile.

"No, I'm good. Thanks for the ride Mike. Maybe I'll see you around." I started walking towards my building, looking back when I got to the door.

Mike was still sitting on his bike watching me, and he threw up his hand before putting his helmet back on.

I noticed that the little red car was gone. Why was I disappointed?

I shook my head and walked into my building, taking the elevator up to my floor.

This was just dumb. I was a grown ass woman, who didn't take any shit from anyone. Why did it feel like I was a teenage girl crushing on the guy who acts like a jerk to her? Why did it make my heart flutter that he drove over here just to see if I made it home safely? True, he was checking on Mike too, but that was Mike's bike. He must drive it all the time.
