"I was pissed and hurt but I thought about it and ended up forgiving you, telling myself that you weren't used to being in a relationship. That it would take time for you to change. Then I saw you with the other girls. Same thing. I got hurt and mad. So very hurt and mad, but again, I forgave you after just a few minutes. I realized what I was doing and it scared me. I was becoming your doormat. Allowing you to do anything you wanted, and using the excuse that you didn't know better to justify yours and my actions." I leaned back to look Colby in his beautiful blue eyes. "It's just not right Colby. I can't be that girl. Regardless of the fact that you actually aren't used to this, it should be common sense. You can't just go around doing what you want anymore. Not if you want me in your life."

I knew that I couldn't live without him. I knew this but I also knew that I couldn't live with myself if I allowed myself to be treated this way. It was a lose lose situation for me.

He brought his hand up to my face, and pushed a lock of hair behind my ear. The smallest action from him sent shivers down my spine.

"Chloe, I'm going to do everything in my power to be the man...or vamp," I smiled a little at him. "That you deserve. I don't know why I let those girls do what they were doing. I don't want anyone but you. Forever." He shrugged. "Maybe you can teach me. Remind me of how a relationship is supposed to work. After I kill Jeff."

He let me go abruptly, leaving me standing there as he put his hand on the coffee shop door.

"Wait, what?! Colby, NO!"

He turned his head back to me with a wolfish grin. "Gotcha! I really do want to kill him though. For nothing more than thinking that he had a right to touch you. You let him hold your hand." He whimpered the last part at me, his face falling sadly.

I don't think I've ever seen anything cuter to be honest.

I had to giggle.

"I didn't let him hold my hand. He placed his hand on top of mine, and I was trying not to be rude."

"Why were you trying not to be rude? That's half of your personality, just like it's mine."

Okay, maybe he had a point.

 I shrugged.

"He's my boss. I don't want to cause problems."

Colby just looked at me sternly. "You didn't like it when those girls were touching me. I've been paid back. Please don't let that happen again."

I nodded, grateful that he wasn't going to actually kill Jeff, but also happy that it seemed to make him understand how I felt last night. Still wasn't sure that he wouldn't try to kill Jeff when I wasn't around.

"Colby," I started speaking sternly.

He looked at me questioningly, moving away from the door, back towards me.

"Don't kill Jeff. Not now, not later. Promise?"

He sighed, like it was the biggest deal ever. "Fiiiine." He groaned out. "You're no fun." He pouted, making his lips curve into a frown.

I liked this version of Colby.

I giggled again and his face softened.

"I like making you laugh instead of cry. I always want to make you smile."

Damn it, he was gonna make me cry again, but not sad tears this time.

I smiled at him, my eyes watery, and then remembered what Jeff had told me.

"Was it you?"

He furrowed his brow. "Huh?"

"Was it you? That stole Millie away from Jeff."

"Oh," He ran his hand through his hair. "Yeah, that was me. I don't remember her telling me she had a boyfriend but honestly, it wouldn't have made a difference." He shrugged, like it was no big deal. "I feel like I showed him who she really was. She couldn't possibly love him if she could do that to him." He placed his hands on my waist, and backed me up against the wall. "In a way, I saved him." He kissed my lips lightly. "From a horrible, horrible relationship." He kissed both of my cheeks. "That bitch is crazy anyways." He pressed his lips to mine, pushing my mouth open with his tongue, until he got inside.

I pulled away.

"Wait, IS crazy? Is she still around?"

God I hoped not. The last thing I needed was another crazy ass ex of his. I was already sick of it.

I could tell by his face that she was indeed, still around.

"Fucking A, Colby! How many more crazy exes am I going to have to deal with?? Why couldn't you like...collect Pokemon cards or something, instead of fucking bitchy females?"

I started pacing, thinking about how I was just going to keep running into them. It was never going to end.

"Hey!" He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him. "It doesn't matter. I will deal with them all. You're the only one that matters to me. If they try to mess with me, with us, I'll deal with them. If you want me to kill them, I'll kill them. Whatever you want me to do."

Was he serious? Could I actually get him to kill them? Hmmm...No, I couldn't do that.

Even thought it would be easier if they all just disappeared.

"No, I don't want you to kill them. Maybe just make them stay the fuck away from you though. That would be nice."

He laid his forehead against mine, staring into my eyes. "Deal. How much longer do you have on your break?"

I checked my phone. "About thirty minutes."

"Are you hungry? You haven't eaten much the last few days. A couple of granola bars aren't going to cut it."

My eyes grew wide. "I knew it!"

He leaned back, looking confused. "What?"

I poked him in the chest. "You were at my apartment watching me! You crawled into bed with me last night. When you didn't answer me earlier, I though I might've been wrong, but you just gave yourself away with the granola bar thing." I smiled smugly at him.

"Damn it." He growled out, picking me up.

I wrapped my legs around his waist laughing.
