Chloe gave me a small smile.

"I'm happy that I'm staying too, Colby."

I leaned back into the bean bag and pulled her tight against me.

I know the other guys heard everything that I said, but they were smart enough to keep their mouths shut and their eyes away from us. Maybe they were learning. I doubt it though. Just biding their time until they let some other stupid remark fall from their stupid mouths.

I gotta be honest though, if it were one of them, I would be teasing the hell out of them, or telling them how stupid they were. Still wasn't going to let them off easy for doing it.

I sat there, occasionally playing with Chloe's hair, watching her face as she spoke animatedly with Kat, or one of the others. It had made me jealous at first when she interacted with Mike, but now, not so much. I could tell he was just being friendly, and she didn't look at him the way she looked at me.

I noticed the way her lips would curve slowly upwards when she found something a little funny, and the way she laughed with her entire face if she found it very funny. Her nose crinkled when she thought something over, and she had a habit of biting her lip and twisting her rings. That made me smile, because I know that I do that a lot myself.

I watched the silver hoops swinging in her ears as she shook her head to something that Devyn had said to her. She was really fitting in here and that made me happy.

"Hey Chloe, you think you'll have any of your really good dreams tonight?" Tara yelled out over  everyone talking, with a wicked grin on her face.

Chloe blushed, the sound of her blood rushing loud in my ears. Damn it Tara.

I hadn't thought anymore about the dreams. She was actually remembering the kiss on the balcony and I had a feeling that she wasn't going to be too happy with me with she found out what I did. Now wasn't the time for that though.

"Oh leave her alone Tara." Devyn replied, rolling her eyes.

I was grateful for her right then, because I really didn't want to have to cuss Tara out and start something with Jake because of it. I really liked Tara but that mouth was too much sometimes.

I know, I wasn't really one to talk about someone being a smart ass.

"I was just teasing! Chloe's not that easy to offend. She's a bad bitch, like me. Isn't that right Chloe?"

Chloe rolled her eyes and smiled at Tara. "Yeah bitch, that's right. I happen to like my dreams so if they come, I won't be disappointed and I'll give you all the dirty details."

Damn, this girl was really making my chest ache.

I wanted to get this thing with Millie over with and come back home, just to watch her sleep. I was actually going insane. This wasn't like me at all.

The next couple of hours passed quickly, without me really paying attention to anything except the woman in my arms.

I was surprised when Sam got my attention, drawing it away from Chloe's hand that I was tracing my fingertip along.

 "Colby, it's almost time."

I glanced up at him, meeting his gaze. "Yeah? Damn. Okay." I stood up, and held my hand out to Chloe. "Let me show you where some things are in my room so that you won't be completely lost while I'm gone." I grinned at her, and she rolled her eyes.

"I think I can find the bed." She replied sarcastically, but took my hand.

I pulled her up next to me.

"Be right back."

We started walking out the door, and I heard Jake's voice. I was actually going to kill him one of these days. Maybe just rip out his vocal chords.

"Damn, all it takes is a few minutes for Colby to do his thing. I thought you were better than that brother."

I gritted my teeth. "Fuck off Jake."

Chloe glanced at me and smiled, biting her lip to keep from laughing. I'm glad that she found it funny, because he was actually starting to get on my nerves.

I couldn't even have sex with Chloe yet. I didn't trust myself, but that didn't mean that I wasn't thinking about it ALL THE TIME. Then he had to keep fucking talking about it.

We made it to my room and I pulled her against me to hug her for a moment, before I released her.

"There's a mini fridge here if you want a water."

I usually kept it stocked for the girls that I had up here...or the girls that I used to have up here. Huh, come to think of it, I had a couple of girls up here after Chloe ran off that night, but it made me sick when I drank from them. There hadn't been any more since then...weird.

"My laptop is here. You can just log into the guest account and watch YouTube, Netflix, or whatever you want. Um...I know you didn't bring any clothes to sleep in but if you would like to change, you can check that dresser. There are sweats and t shirts in there. Just make yourself at home, I guess." I dragged my hand through my hair, feeling awkward again.

I didn't get it. I was usually so damn sure of myself but she made me....not me. I cared about what she thought and it was driving me crazy.

She sat down on the couch, and I remembered the book that was literally right next to her. Fuck.

"Are you going to stay up here or go back downstairs?" I asked her, glancing at the pillow that was covering the book.

"Probably go back downstairs for a little while. Not long though. Starting to get tired."

I nodded. "Okay. Well, like I said, I'll take the couch and I won't wake you when I get back home. Hopefully, it won't take too long. Guess we can go back down then. I think Sam's ready to go."

She nodded and stood up. We stepped outside my door, when I stopped.

 "Hold on, forgot my hoodie."
