Chapter 22: Tragedy Strikes?

It was around 9 at night and Serena sat on her bed, too scared to sleep so an idea popped into her head

She got changed out of her night clothes and back into a normal attire before walking downstairs

"Going somewhere?" Her mom asked

"I need to talk to Ash" Serena answered with no emotion

"Is something wrong Serena? You don't look ok" Her mom then said

"I'll be fine once I talk to Ash" Serena replied

"Ok sweetie" Her mom agreed

Serena then walked over to Ash's house and knocking on the door, where he was greeted by Ash's mom

"Hi there Serena! Can I do something for you?" Delia asked

"Sorry to come by at this time, but is Ash awake?" Serena asked back

"It's no problem at all, Ash should be awake up in his room" Delia replied and she opened the door

Serena thanked Delia and made her way up to what she knew as Ash's room so she knocked on the door

"Go away" Ash's voice echoed from the other side

She was left confused and Ash could see the shadow from the pair of feet under the crack didn't move so he spoke again

"I said go away Gary" Ash demanded

"Ash? I-It's Serena" She replied

Serena could then hear that Ash jumped out of bed and Pikachu complained as he rushed over and opened the door quickly

"Sorry about that Serena! I thought you were Gary" Ash apologized

"That's ok Ash, but can I talk to you" Serena replied

"Seeing that you came by at this time, then sure" Ash agreed

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't want to come at this time but I couldn't really sleep and I was thinking a lot about earlier until an idea came into my head, and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to come now even though it's late, so I really am...." Serena continued to ramble on nervously until Ash covered her mouth and she blushed really hard with a dark crimson color

"It's alright Serena, you don't need to apologize, come into my office" Ash replied and Serena stepped inside

"You sure have cleaned your room since the last time I was in here" Serena analyzed as she looked around

"Did you come to see if I cleaned my room?" Ash asked with genuineness

"N-No, Like i said, although I don't know if you were listening when I was rambling, but I can't blame you because sometimes I tend to that when I'm nervous and I'm kind of nervous but I can't tell you why-" Serena began to ramble again until Ash stopped her again

"Your doing it again Serena" Ash said and she began to blush again

"S-Sorry! You must be tired and want to go to sleep so I'll get to the point" She replied

"Your right about that but I'll hear you out for as long as I need to" Ash decided

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry trying to defend Calem, I could've made things worse for all of us" Serena apologized

"You don't need to say your sorry Serena, as long as your safe I'm alright" Ash said and Serena sighed with relief

"Thanks Ash" Serena then said with a smile
