Quick warning: this chapters a little weird but it has good moments overall
*Ash's POV
"Come on Serena, it wasn't that bad" I said
"Yes it w-was! Now hand me the water bottle!" She replied and I did as instructed while laughing "It's not funny!"
"It's pretty funny" I disagreed as Serena chugged the water bottle down to the very last drop
"Why would you even dare me to do that?!" Serena demanded to know while sounding annoyed and with an angry look which made me laugh again "What's so funny!?"
"You look cute when your mad" I answered but she didn't change at all "Ok... I'm sorry"
"Your forgiven" Serena said, still annoyed
"We should probably get back to work now" I suggested
"Ash, I've been trying to for the three hours but you've been messing around" Serena pointed out
"How?" I asked
"First you wanted to watch a movie, then you thought you could beat me in a rematch in our video game, and now you dared me to eat a chili pepper!" Serena answered
"I said I was sorry" I reminded quietly
"And I said you were forgiven" Serena replied
"So where do we start anyways?" I then asked as I projected the hologram screen from my band
"How about his last name? Xavier"
I put the name into the database but no one important under that last name seemed to come up
"Nothing" I said
"Here, let me see" Serena quietly replied as she began to work around with the hologram
"What are you doing?"
"Just seeing if I can get any additional information on what I know about him"
I then waited in silence for what felt like forever while Serena continued to do research, and I was beginning to get real bored, so I gave her a bored look, but she didn't look at me....
"Serena?"
"Hm?"
"How much longer?"
"I'm getting somewhere"
"Somewhere? Ugh...."
She ignored my response and continued following whatever lead she had. Apparently it had something to do with whoever owned the home he lived in. I didn't know or cared, and the boredom was taking me over so I leaned in and kissed Serena
"Ash" She said, trying to dismiss me while not even turning to face me or acknowledging the fact I kissed her
"I'm bored" I sighed
"Then help me" She suggested
"Sorry, I just don't share the same passion as you on this" I denied
"Then why did you agree to help?" She questioned, finally changing her tone into an annoyed one
"Because I want you to stay safe" I answered
"I'm not a little girl Ash, I'm a strong independent woman" Serena put
"Whatever you say sweetie" I replied as I started to play with her hair for fun
"Would you stop?" She asked
"I told you I'm bored"
"I can't focus" She gritted through her teeth
"Serena, please. I'll solve this whole thing like.... tomorrow... or the day after" I pleaded as I rested my chin on her left shoulder "And then we can do something fun"
