Chapter Synopsis: It's nearing the end of the school year and Ash prepares to take on his final gym, the Anistar City Gym. But before that he needs to finish mastering his first lesson, much to someone's surprise who stumbles upon his training session
"Not so hard. Remember, the harder you punch the more time you leave yourself open" Jason advised
"Yeah I know" Ash quickly replied sounding annoyed
"You seem off today, something going on?" Jason asked
*Earlier that day
"Hey Ash!" Serena greeted as she ran up to him from behind as he made his way to his destination
"Oh, hey Serena" He replied without the same enthusiasm as her
"Where are you going? Mind if I tag along?" She then asked
"I- um, I'm going.... to.... the store" Ash lied nervously
"I can help you then!" Serena offered but Ash waved his hand
"No thanks Serena, maybe another time" Ash denied
"Can I at least come then?" Serena begged
"Why do you want to come so bad?" Ash asked curiously and the question triggered Serena's usual blush
"I just.... I just.... I have nothing else to do" Serena lied
"Oh, sorry to disappoint you then. I need to go alone" Ash attempted to get rid of the girl he didn't know adored him
"What? Why!" Serena complained
"Because..... I have to" Ash said
"Come on Ash, don't be so stubborn! I won't be a bother, I swear!"
"Sorry...."
"Don't do this! At least give me a good reason!"
"I just have to, trust me Serena"
"Fine!" She snapped and she crossed her arms before marching angrily back to her house
*Present
"Maybe if you had a better excuse then going to the store that wouldn't have happened" Jason pointed out
"Yeah I know but I needed quick thinking. I-I just can't really think straight when Serena's around" Ash admitted as he gave a heavy punch to the sandbag in front of him, but the recoil momentum caused the bag to slam back into him and tumble him backwards
"Good example of why hitting hard is bad" Jason muttered
"Agh! Why do I feel this way!" Ash shouted as he raised and slammed a fist onto the ground
"Is Serena making you feel this way?" Jason asked
"Yes" Ash quickly confirmed
"What are you feeling exactly?"
"It's just really making me annoyed that I made her mad earlier. If it was anyone else it wouldn't have bothered me, but her....." Ash explained
"You two have a special bond. It's as simple as that, you don't want to see her like that so your mad you were the one to cause if" Jason analyzed
