Chapter 12: The Clock Ticks

Regional Conflict Arc Synopsis: As tensions grow larger and larger between Kalos and Galar after the assassination of Champion Leon, every region becomes involved and a large war approaches between every region. However, in assistance with Neptune, Ash and his friends formulate a plan to cool the conflicts and stop the grand war before it's too late

*Serena's POV

I was about half way into my trip to Hoenn, and I was starting to become pretty popular after winning every contest i've competed in so far, about 5 at this point, but something else was on my mind

It had been nearly two weeks since I last heard from Ash. He hadn't texted me and I didn't want to bother him unless there was good reason, but I was starting to get anxious so I debated on wether or not texting my friends about him was a good idea because they would probably tease me about my crush again

"Hey Milly, Luke" I greeted my friends

"Hey Serena. Something wrong?" Luke asked

"Yeah you look down again" Milly added

"It's just been a while since I've heard from Ash and I'm getting a little worried" I explained

"Have you tried texting or calling him?" Milly asked

"I haven't because I don't know if there's a good reason for him not having talked to me" I answered

"I think your over exaggerating. Why don't you call one fo your other friends to see how he's doing?" Like suggested

"I'm not sure, I'll just get teased" I replied

"That's why you make it subtle, I'll show you" Milly said

*Timeskip

Eventually I gave in though and I called Shauna to see if anything was happening after some assistance from Milly

"Oh hey Serena" Shauna greeted in a weird way

"Hey Shauna, anything going on in Kalos?" I asked

"Um.... not really" She answered

"Ok... anything happen to Ash? I haven't heard from him in a bit" I then asked

"Nope haven't heard from him" Shauna replied

"But you see him at school" I reminded

"Right, um.... no haven't seen him at school" Shauna said

"He hasn't been at school? Shauna whats going on...." I demanded to know

"Alright listen, don't tell anyone I told you because we didn't really want to let you know, but Ash is kind of missing" Shauna informed and it was like a train of stress hit me

"What!" I exclaimed

"He's been missing for about 10 days now, it's like he vanished into thin air" Shauna explained

"How do you know he didn't just randomly leave Kalos again?" I asked

"His mom doesn't know anything about it either, I told you Serena, it's strange. We have everyone working on the case but there doesn't seem to be any leads at all" Shauna answered

"And Pikachu?" I added "Gone"

"I should probably head back to Kalos then" I decided

"No Serena! You can't! Don't let this distract you from your trip, I promise he'll turn up" Shauna disagreed

"How can you be so sure?" I asked worryingly

"Serena you have another two weeks, we'll find him" Shauna replied
