Couch and Cocktails Ep 5

In a familiar pink backdrop, the video focuses on the three ladies sitting on the cream colored couch. A pitcher of cocktail that's a mixture of Very Old Captain Rum, black tea reduction, lemon juice, pineapple juice and a spice syrup. Three glasses. A platter of cornick and chicharon in front of them. Sica started her introduction after clapping the slate. Jonnie and Via sideglances each other, both are stopping them selves to laugh. Sica has been doing this for more than six months now, yet the two ladies find it amusing everytime she opens her vlog with her cheery introduction. However, it's also evident how proud they are on how far Sica has come in this new field she chooses.

  The trio's laughter filled the second floor. They were discussing Sica's nickname, and again, it's Jonnie who is in charge with variety.

   They spent about 10 minutes by just laughing and playing around. Jonnie is extra hyper that day, her energy is beyond control.

   Until Sica decides to calm their selves and finally focus on filming. They should be done before dinner time, and it's already almost four in the afternoon.

     "Who are you in the group?" is the first question that Sica asks.

     "Hmm." she and Jonnie reacts at the same time. Seems like some people are really curious about their circle.

     "Si Sica 'yun'g Mother of the group. Kapag may mga gatherings, automatic na bahay ni Sica. Pink house pa nga tawag namin dito noon'g college kasi pink talaga kulay sa labas pati interiors. Si Sica rin tagakalma kapag sabay-sabay kami'ng nag-iingay."

   Sica lays one of the foundation of their squad. She, along with Jonnie, keeps the squad's tight bond for more than a decade now. She's an only child, with both parents busy with their respective businesses. To Sica, the squad is the family she built.

     "Kapag matagal-tagal nang hindi nagkakasama ang barkada, magchachat lang si Sica sa'kin. Tapos gagawa na naman kami ng plano kung kailan magkikita-kita ang barkada. Saan. Ano ang gagawin. Ano'ng pagkain. Mga ganyan."

   The two ladies, Sica and Via are just staring at Jonnie as she speaks. They stare at her with hearts shooting from their eyes.

     "Bago lang ako'ng addition sa barkada so, I have no idea what am I in the group."

     "Via is our goddess." Jonnie brags about Via's beauty. She sounds like a die hard fangirl who will go to wars for Olivia Romero.

   Her gestures earned her a soft laugh from Via, her girl crush.

     "Yaaass, si Via ang dyosa." Sica hypes Olivia as well.

     "Kapag nagsalita na si Via, kailangan makinig ka kasi minsan lang mabiyayaan ng presence niya ang group chat."

     "You guys are overly praising me."

     "Hindi kaya. Iha-hype talaga kita habangbuhay." Jonnie then shifts her eyes on the rolling camera, "Guys, alam niyo 'yun'g presensya nang isa'ng tao na mapapanganga ka kapag andiyan siya? Ganyan si Via. Kaya deserve niya'ng matawag na goddess sa barkada."

     "What would that make you in the group then?"

     "Ako?" Jonnie grins, "I'm the baby." she babytalks. The trio knows when it comes to birthdays, next to Beatrice, Jonnie's the eldest. But, she isn't lying when she said she's also the squad's baby. Everyone loves to tease her, everyone loves to protect her, everyone sees her as a little sister they should protect at all costs. To those who don't know her, she may come up as frank and rude, but to those who are close to her will testify how golden and pure of a soul she is. She's tough and doesn't take bullshits from others, but she easily sympathizes. Jonnie has endless of charms, as what Cace says. The very reason why the squad is overprotective of her. She's too kind for the world that people tend to abuse her kindness.
