The Life Changing Vacation

~Chapter 33~

Two months later

Kristina's POV

It is the 31st of December. We survived Christmas, now we have to survive New Year's Eve.

Joanna came downstairs and asked how our Christmas has been.

"Well, it was a little depressing and different without my family, but it was better than I expected", I answered.

Dory felt the same, but she had a lot more fun than I had.

"I thought we could eat spareribs tonight, since that was the first thing you ate in this house. Are you okay with that?", Joanna asked.

I looked at Dory. It looked like Joanna wanted to "celebrate" that we came here or something.. but that day wasn't very good for any of us. The food was good. But earlier that day, we had to leave our beautiful Burgers in McDonald's in a hurry. We got kidnapped, and my parents got murdered. But we both agreed to the spareribs anyways.

Alex came into the living room. He looked very happy, and he was in a good mood.

"Wanna watch the fireworks from the city tonight?", he asked as he came into the room.

"You guys are wanted by the police, are you sure that's a good idea?", Dory asked.

"It will be okay as long as you keep your mouth shut, and stay away from the police", Joanna said.

We went to dress up, and then Dory and I went upstairs to talk. At 9:00 pm, we ate dinner, and then we went to the city around 11:00.

"Please promise me that no one will get hurt tonight.. I just want a normal, nice New Year's Eve, so please don't ruin it", I told Alex and Joanna.

"We're not gonna hurt anybody", Alex answered.

I trusted him. I thought that nothing dangerous would happen that night, but I was wrong..
