~Chapter 85~

Five months later

Kristina's POV
It's July 17th, and today it's been a year since Dory and I was kidnapped. I didn't remember it before I came downstairs this morning, and Joanna told me.

"Good morning", she said.

"Good morning, mom", I said.

That's right.. I've started to call her mom.. not all the time, but sometimes..

"Do you know what day it is today?", she asked.

"Wednesday?", I answered.

"I didn't mean that, silly.. it's been a year since you came here", she told me.

"Oh my god.. I totally forgot that", I said. I got a little upset.

"What's wrong, honey?", she asked.

"That was.. the worst day of my life", I said.

"I understand.. you lost your parents, but you know what? We're having steak tonight.. I know both you and Dory love it", Joanna told me.

She immediately put a smile on my face!

Later that day, we ate dinner and then at the evening, we all sat down together just talking, playing cards, and other things. It was a good day, until right before I went to bed. I felt that tears was gonna run down my face. When I was done in the bathroom, I was gonna go to bed. I met Joanna in the hallway upstairs.

"Oh.. what's matter?", she said with the sweetest voice.

"I think my parents are disappointed at me.. I'm calling the murders of my parents my parents", I said.

"Kristina, I know they're not disappointed at you.. I think they're just happy as long as you're happy", she said.

"They died because of me.. it's all my fault, if I would have done as you said in the first place, they would still be alive", I told her.

"Calm down, it's not your fault", Joanna said.

"It is", I said as I wiped my tears.

"Kristina, please don't ruin it.. we've been happy for a long time.. don't send us back to the past where I threatened you, misbehaved you, locked you up and so much more.. i mean, I'm still not perfect but I don't want to harm you that badly again", she told me.

"I love you", I said as I wiped my tears.

"I love you too", she said.

"Do you promise? Do you really love me?", I asked.

"Yes, I do", she said as she kissed my forehead and went to her and Alex's room.
