Alex's POV
Sophia had begun to trust us more, and then it was easy for her to test boundaries and do things she shouldn't be doing. One day I was alone with her in the house, she were running around in the living room and the kitchen playing. I tried to calm her down, and I told her that she had to be careful not to break anything. I had just been cleaning the fireplace, and ash was in a bucket that she managed to tear down.

"Enough, time-out!", I said.

"But dad, I'm sorry, please I want to play", she said.

"You can play after you've taken a time out for a minute.. but then you'll do it outside", I explained.

"Idiot", she said.

I looked shocked at her.

Suddenly, Joanna came home.

"What's going on?", she asked.

"She just had an accident by running into the ashes.. I told her to calm down, and then she called me an idiot", I said.

Joanna's POV
I went to talk to Sophia.

"Honey, we understand that you want to play, but that's not an excuse for bad behavior", I told her.

"I'm sorry", she said.

"And technically you called your dad an idiot", I said.

"What? I heard Kristina say it", she told me.

I sighed.

"Can I go out and play?", she asked.

"No, I'm sorry. It's getting dark", I explained.

"Well, no shit you bitch", she said.

I got really shocked and then I hit her. I regretted it. She started crying.

"Oh god no.. sweetie, I'm so sorry", I comforted her.

She was gonna run to the bathroom and lock the door, but I grabbed her hand.

"Hey, are you okay? Does it hurt that much?", i asked her.

"Yes", she said as she wiped her tears.

"It's okay, I'm sorry", I said.

When Kristina and Dory came home, I went to talk to them.

"Why are you teaching Sophia bad words?", I asked.

"Technically we didn't teach her.. she just overheard it", Dory said.

"Don't talk back at me. She's five years old! She shouldn't know the word bitch", I said.

"Oh my god, she called you a bitch?", Kristina asked.

"Yeah, and she called i Alex an idiot.. and then she said no shit when I told her it was getting dark outside", I explained.

"My respect for her is getting all the way up", Kristina giggled.

"I hit her, and now I regret it", I told them.

"You hit her!?", Kristina asked.

"Yeah, I did", I said.

"Oh god, I feel so bad for her", she said.

"Yeah, me too!", I said as I walked away.
