~Chapter 43~

The next day

Kristina's POV

I woke up and I went downstairs. I met Dory in the living room.

"Are you okay? You look like you just cried", she told me.

"I'm okay, I haven't cried", I lied.

"You need to stop this", she said and walked away.

I could tell she knew I was lying.

Joanna overheard the conversation. She stood there looking at me when Dory walked away. I just ran upstairs and locked myself in the bathroom. Joanna followed me.

"Kristina, talk to me", she said as she knocked on the door.

"I can't, I'm so sick of this.. I don't want to live like this", I told her.

"I understand that you're sad, but you need to try", she said.

"Believe me, I've tried", I explained.

"Just open the door, now.. I really need you to talk to me", she demanded.

I opened the door, and we sat down at the floor.

"Do you want to go for a walk together? We can go to the same place we did earlier", she suggested.

"Okay", she agreed.

We went to the little beach by the ocean. We sat down at a huge rock. No one said anything for about a minute and then Joanna broke the silence.

"I promise everything is gonna be okay", she told me.

"You said that 6 months ago too", I explained.

"You won't be happy if you don't try", she said as she wiped a tear from my face.

"But I have tried so hard!", I told her.

"Well, try harder", she said.

I got pissed and ran towards the forest and back to the house. When the night came, I took a wine bottle from Alex and Joanna. I sat down outside at the stairs and I started drinking. I haven't been drinking that much before, so I deeply regretted it. Suddenly, Dory came outside.

"What are you doing?!", she whispered loudly.

"What are you doing?", I asked as I wiped a tear.

"Alex and Joanna are going to kill you for this", she explained.

"Please don't tell them", I begged.

"If you don't tell them that I was gonna sneak out", she said.

"Can I join?", I asked as I tried to get up from the stairs.

"No no, you're drunk.. I think we should get you up to bed", she explained.

"Okay, mom", I joked and laughed.

"You don't have to be so loud", she said and rolled her eyes.

Suddenly, Alex stood there.

"No, you shouldn't..", he said.

"Fuck", Dory said.

"I'm tired", I said.

"Hurry up to bed before Joanna comes down", he said and tried to hide the wine bottle.

"Thank you", Dory whispered.
