Alex's POV
The next day, we waited for Kristina to come downstairs, but she never did. Around 1:00, Joanna decided to go check on her.

"Alex!! Call 911, now!", she yelled from Kristina's bedroom.

"Shit", I thought.

I called 911, and went to talk to Joanna. Kristina wasn't doing very well. We couldn't wake her up. The ambulance picked her up, we took the car and went to the hospital to see Kristina. We sat there waiting for hours. Dory shed a little tear. Joanna tried her best to comfort her.

"It's going to be okay", she said as she held around her.

Around 4:30, a doctor came.

"Mr and Mrs Murphy, I am Doctor Brown, and I'm afraid your daughter doesn't have much time", he told us.

"What? What do you mean she doesn't have much time? She's dying?", Joanna asked.

"I'm afraid she is", the doctor explained.

"No, she's not. There must be another way", I said.

"We will keep you updated", Dr Brown said.

Joanna's POV
When we came home, Dory went to the bathroom, shut the door and locked it.

"Dory, sweetie, please open the door", I said.

"Leave", she said.

"Kristina is going to be okay", I explained.

"No, she's not going to be okay! She's dying, I know she is", Dory told me.

Suddenly, the phone rang. It was Dr Brown.

"Your daughter will be fine, but it requires a surgery which is really expensive , and cost up to 300 000 dollars. Do you have that money?", he asked.

"I'm not sure, we just bought a house", I explained.

"Your daughter is now in a coma, but she can stay there for a few weeks so you have some time", he told me.

"Glad to hear that, thank you", I said and hung up.

"Kristina will be fine as long as we have 300 000 dollars for a surgery. Do we have that money?", I asked Alex.

"I really don't know, we have used pretty much money lately", he said.

Alex and I checked our bank accounts, and we didn't have the money we needed to perform the surgery. We wondered what to do.

And then it hit me..

"Ryan", I said.

"Ryan? Ryan who?", Alex asked.

"Ryan Lopez. He helped us earlier, remember?", I asked.

"Ohh, yeah. I remember him. And Alaric Smith or whatever he was called. You killed him in the McDonald's toilet", he said.

"Yes, and Ryan got rid of his body", I said.

"Where is he now?", he asked.

"He moved to New Jersey to hide from the police", I told him.

"Wait. You're gonna get the money from him?", Alex asked.

"In one way or another, I need them", I explained.

I called Ryan.

"Joanna Murphy? It's been a while since I heard from you", he explained.

"Yes, it has. Can you meet me at Starbucks, 1500 Broadway, New York in 3 hours?", I asked.

"Sure, I'll meet you there", he said and hung up.

I went to Starbucks and met Ryan.

"Hi, how's Kristina and Dory?", he asked.

"Dory is fine, Kristina is.. in coma", I laughed.

"That's why I contacted you. I needed 300 000 $ for a surgery, but I don't have them because we just bought a new house. Can you help us? Please?", I asked.

"What happened to Kristina?", he asked.

"I beat her up.. don't tell anyone or you're next", I said.

"I won't. I won't. How much money do you need from me?", he asked.

"Maybe.. a hundred thousand?", I asked.

"Oh shit.. I don't have that money", he explained.

"Can you get me them within tomorrow?", I asked.

"You want me to rob a bank or something? You got to be kidding me, I can't do that", he said.

"I don't care how you get the money, just get me them!", I said.

He looked worried at me.

"Look.. get me them and I will make it up to you, I promise", I said.

"Okay.. deal", he said.

"Good", I said and got up from the chair.

"Wait, can I maybe.. buy you a coffee?", he offered.

"That's sweet of you.. sure", I smiled.

He bought two cups of coffee and then we sat down talking. He looked very kind. His smile sometimes looked like he was that kind of person who could help bring out the good in people. But I tried not to be attracted to him.

"It's getting late, I really should get home", I said.

"But.. thank you", I smiled.

The next day, the phone rang. It was Ryan.

"I got you the money", he told me.

"You did? Come to me at my house as soon as you can", I said.

He came with an envelope with the money in.

"Thank you so much", I hugged him.

He looked shocked. He blushed. I could tell he was a little bit in love with me.

We paid for the surgery, and after a few days the doctors told us that Kristina had woken up from the coma. But she had to stay there for one more day because of different things. Among other things, her hand was hurt, they had to check if her neck was alright, etc. But we went to see her.

"I'm so sorry", I said as I hugged her.

"Wait.. you spent 300 000 dollars to save my life?", she asked.

"No, 200 000, Ryan Lopez spent a hundred thousand. You remember him?", I asked.

"Yes, I do", Kristina explained.

We had to leave the hospital after a while. We went home to make dinner, and then I went to bed around 12:30 am.
