The Life Changing Vacation

~Chapter 189~

Dory's POV
It was raining the next morning. Alex and I were watching the news when we heard a 16 year old girl had started a hospital fire. That was Kristina. I got upset and walked away. I just wanted to forget everything that had happened. Even Kristina herself, I wanted to forget. But unfortunately, all the memories were stuck. ''Can I go to a party tonight?'', I asked Alex. ''Ask your mother'', he answered. It was a reason that I asked him. He was the easiest of them to get a yes from. ''That's not gonna work and you know it'', I said. Alex laughed. ''Yeah, you're right'', he joked. But that didn't stop me from Joanna. She surprisingly said yes. I was shocked. ''Are you for real?'', I asked. ''Of course, I know that's what you need. And I trust you. I know a manipulator when I see them, who do you think invented the word?'', she giggled. I got ready for the party, and then I left around 8:00 pm. ''Don't be late'', was the last thing Joanna said before I left. I went to a random party is the city, where I met some old friends. Going there was a bad idea, cause I ended up sleeping with Andrew Gonzalez. I had too much to drink. I didn't realize my mistake before I woke up the next morning, in a bed that was not my own. Andrew was sleeping next to me. I woke him up and asked what had happened last night. He looked nervous at me, as if we really had done something. ''No.. tell me you're kidding'', I said. But he weren't. I checked my phone and saw 23 missed calls from Joanna. Alex had also been trying to call me. ''Oh no.. I got to go'', I said and put on my bra. ''Are you okay?'', Andrew asked. ''Tell me you have been using protection'', my heart was beating faster and faster. ''What? No, I thought you were on birth control pills'', he told me. I panicked and ran out of his house and took the first bus home.

I met Alex and Joanna in the living room when I got home. They both looked really disappointed in me. ''Where have you been?'', Joanna asked me. ''Mom, I'm sorry. I really am, I didn't know what I was doing'', I exlained. ''What? Have much have you been drinking!?'', she raised her voice. ''Please forgive me, I know it was wrong'', I told them. Alex couldn't control his laughter. ''Alex!'', Joanna said and hit him. She sighed. ''Please tell me you used protection'', she said. I didn't answer. She knew exactly what was going on. ''Oh shit'', Alex said. Joanna quickly got her purse and her coat. She was going to buy a pregnancy test. ''You stay here, and Alex, don't let her out of you sight'', she said. ''You're grounding me?'', I asked. ''If that's what you want to call it, then yes'', Joanna left. We waited for about an hour for Joanna to get home. I took the pregnancy test, and handed Joanna the test with tears in my eyes. ''Oh shit, not again'', she said.

That was right. Earlier, Kristina got pregnant and Joanna forced her to take an abortion. I was really afraid that was gonna happen to me too. I didn't want to give up my child. Joanna just hugged me when she saw the test was positive. ''It's gonna be okay, I promise'', she said. I begged Joanna to let me keep my baby. It was really hard to convince her. We even ended up arguing over a few days. But luckily, I finally won. Alex and Joanna could see how much I wanted to keep the baby, so they let me.

One day, I wanted to visit Kristina in prison. She was upset that I helped Alex and Joanna in the trial. I asked for forgiveness, but she didn't want to forgive me after I got her taken away for the rest of her life. ''My life is ruined, because of you. There's nothing that can make up for that'', she told me. I got an idea. I went back to the house, and asked Alex and Joanna if we could save her. ''What? No. That's her own mess, she shouldn't have put that note in the hospital. If she wouldn't have done that, then she would me free. ''Please, I think you're just mad because she didn't follow your instuctions'', I explained. ''Oh yeah, you're damn right about that'', Alex said. ''Then punish her youselves! Just don't let her be in prison for the rest of her life, it's not fair'', I told them. ''You're right, it's not fair'', Joanna said. We planned the way to get Kristina out of prison. Alex got the idea to one more trial, and this time, getting her a lawyer. The trial idea wasn't to fairly free her, but to get the oppurtunity to get her out using violence. ''Mrs Murphy, do you have anything more to add?'', the judge asked at the end of the trial. ''Yes, this'', Joanna said and threw a smoke bomb at him, that she just got from Alex.

Unfortunately, the judge managed to escape, but everyone panicked. Alex took Kristina and ran out of the courtroom. Joanna walked up to the judge who layed on the floor, and put her heel into his throat and threatened him. ''That girl is free, do you understand?'', she raised her voice. ''You're crazy'', the judge told her. ''Wrong answer'', Joanna said and killed him. While everyone was panicking, we all managed to take our car and drive away. We knew the police wanted us, so we couldn't go back to the house. Instead, we went chose to drive all the way to Los Angeles.
