~Chapter 26~

The next day

Kristina's POV
I woke up around 6:30 am because of my arm. I tried to fall asleep again, but I couldn't. So I went downstairs at 7:30. I made breakfast and turned on the TV. Joanna and Alex came downstairs around 9:00.

"You're up early", Joanna said when she came downstairs.

"Yeah, I woke up at 6:30", I answered.

"We're taking you to the hospital today", Joanna said.

"But we can't tell them that you shot me", I said.

"We can just tell them that a random guy on the street shot you", she explained and laughed.

"Can I ask you why you're taking me to the hospital?", I asked.

"Because I feel bad for you", She answered.

We went to the hospital, and they told me that I had to stay there for a night and then I could go home.

The next day

I went home from the hospital, and I felt that I needed some fresh air.

"Joanna, can I please go outside? I don't feel that well", I asked.

"Okay, but I'm coming with you", she answered.

We were outside for about 30 minutes, and then we went inside.

The next night

The time is now 2:00 am, and I'm gonna sneak out of the house. I went to a 24-hour open Mc Donald's where I found some teenagers. It was a little hard for me to reach contact because of my social anxiety, but I did it.

"Hey, I'm Kristina", I said.

"Yo, I'm Wesley", one of them answered.

"How old are you guys?", I asked.

"We're all between 15 and 18 years old", they answered.

"Nice", I said.

They took me to a party, and I hoped Alex and Joanna didn't notice that I was gone.

Joanna's POV
I woke up around 3:17 am. I went to check on Kristina, but she was gone.

"Alex, wake up! She's gone!", I said and went to find my car keys.

"What? Are you serious?", he asked.

"Yeah, I'm serious. We have to find her", I answered.

"Where do you think she is?", Alex asked.

"Well, duh.. at a party or something", I answered.

Kristina's POV
The time is now 4:31 am, and I feel that I need to go home.

"Wesley, how old are you?", I asked.

"I'm 17", he answered.

"Can you drive me home, please?", I asked.

"Yeah, sure", he answered.

We went home, and I could see that Alex and Joanna weren't home. From that time, I knew that they have noticed I was gone. I quickly went to bed. I woke up at 1:00 pm. I went downstairs hoping that Alex and Joanna wouldn't say anything.

"You've slept for a really long time", Joanna said when I came downstairs.

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep last night", I answered.

"Hmm.. got ya.. we know you snuck out this night, we're not stupid", Alex said.

"I'm sorry", I answered.

Joanna just sighed.

"Where were you?", Alex asked.

"I were at a Mc Donald's, and then I went to a party", I answered nervously.

"Do we really have to lock your bedroom door at night?", Joanna asked.

I just ignored her and went upstairs. After a few hours, we ate dinner. I were just sitting there staring down at the table all the time.

"Why aren't you eating?", Alex asked.

I didn't answer.

"What's the problem?", Joanna asked.

"What do you think?", I asked.

"Listen, I know you're upset. But you just have to Get used to this", She said.

"That's hard. Maybe I would get used to it if you treated me normal", I explained.

"And we would treat you normal if you were more obedient", Alex said.

I just rolled my eyes and walked away.
