~Chapter 62~

The next day

Kristina's POV
The next day, I woke up around 10:15 and then I went downstairs to eat breakfast. Suddenly, the door bell rang. Joanna went to open the door, and the police stood there.

"Joanna Murphy, you and everyone else in this house are under arrest for different things", one of the cops said.

"What kind of things? What proof do you have?", Joanna asked.

"You and your husband escaped from prison after kidnapping these girls, you again kidnapped them and yesterday one of the girls was caught killing someone on tape and the other girl covered it up and you burned the body. I'm sorry, but that didn't stop us from getting the evidence that we need", the other cop said.

I just stood there looking nervous at Joanna, and I hoped she would do something, and she did.

"Let's get those idiots", she said and took up a gun and shot them.

Alex used to be a cop so he knew about cop codes. He took one of the cops' phone and explained that everything was okay.

"What the hell?", I said.

"I promised I would protect you", Joanna told me and hit me.

"Ouch, what did you do that for?", I asked.

"Because you killed someone on a place with security cameras, you fool", she said.

"Fine, I deserve it.. but that really hurt", I said.

"You almost got us all arrested", Dory said.

"Well you pressured me", I said.

"I pressured you to stab someone on a place with security cameras? Pull yourself together", she said and went upstairs.

Joanna just stood there looking mad at me.

"Sorry", I said.

"You get rid of the bodies", she said. She rolled her eyes and walked away.

I tried to take the bodies away, but I couldn't.. I'm weak and I'm not very solution oriented.. suddenly, Alex came outside.

"Are you struggling?", he asked and laughed.

"Shut up", I said and sighed.

"Hey, I'll help you", he said and took one edge of one of the bodies.

I took the other edge and we carried it into the woods and then we got the other one. We burned the bodies and then we went back home.

"You know.. I'm proud of you" he said when we got back to the house.

"You're proud of me? I couldn't even drag a body into the woods", I said.

"It's new for you.. and you're only 16 years old", he said.

"At least one of you understand", I said.

"Hey.. Joanna understand it too.. she's just tired.. she's tired of you being so disobedient and disrespectful", Alex said.

"I'm sorry, I was scared and I didn't know what to do", I explained.

"Well, I hope that's changing now.. I hope you can accept that this is how your life has become, and that we will protect you forever if you do what we tell you to do.. do we have a deal?", he asked.

"Yeah.. we have.. I'm gonna show you some more respect from now on", I said and forced a smile.
