~Chapter 47~

The next day

Kristina's POV

I woke up around 10:00 am, and I went downstairs. I didn't say anything for a long time. Suddenly while I was eating breakfast, Joanna broke the silence.

"We need to talk about the thing that happened last night", she demanded.

"No.. we don't", I said.

"I need you to tell me why you tried to run away", Joanna said.

"I don't know, I was pissed", I told her.

"Well you're not the only one who's pissed. And yet, you're still alive", she said.

I didn't answer, I just went upstairs. After maybe an hour, Joanna came. She wanted to talk to Dory and me.

"I've figured out something.. you shouldn't start your lives without going to school", she told us.

"Wait, what?", Dory said.

"Can we at least home school?", I asked.

"I don't think so, it will be much better if story show up physically. You're inside all day and it doesn't help anyone", she explained.

Joanna was right, we should be more out.

A week later

I got woken up by Joanna at 6:30 am.

"Honey, time to wake up", she said.

"Only five minutes later, please", I said.

"Dory came downstairs half an hour ago", she told me and giggled.

"Well, maybe she didn't fall asleep as late as I did. I've been nervous", I explained.

"It's gonna be okay, I've made pancakes", she said and pulled off my duvet.

I got ready and then I went downstairs to eat breakfast. Around 7:40, Joanna drove us to school.

"Don't get too close to someone", was the last thing Joanna said when we arrived.

Our first subject was science, but we couldn't find the classroom. We had to ask someone.

"Excuse me, we're new here and we can't find the science classroom", Dory said.

"That's where I'm going, I can show you where it is", she said and smiled.

"Thank you so much. By the way, I'm Dory and this is my friend Kristina", Dory said.

"I'm Claire Davis, nice to meet you", the girl said.

We went to class and around 12:45, we ate lunch. We ate lunch with Claire, but it was a little uncomfortable with that much people. At 3:00 pm, Joanna picked us up.

"How was your day?", she asked.

"My day was fine", Dory answered.

"Fine, but a little uncomfortable", I explained.

"Have you gotten any friends?", she asked.

"We got to know a girl", Dory answered.

"You didn't tell her anything?", Joanna asked and looked at me.

"No, we didn't", I answered.

"Are you sure?", Joanna asked and looked at Dory.

"Yeah, we didn't say anything", Dory said.

And then we went home. We did our homework, ate dinner and around 10:30 we went to bed.
