~Chapter 8~

After I told Dory what Alex told me, I went to talk to Joanna about it.

"I know you didn't kill my parents", I told Joanna.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Alex did it in self defense", I said.

"Did he really tell you that?", she asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Yeah, is it true?" I asked her.

"Yes, it's true", she answered.

"I'm sorry for being so mad at you", I said.

"Well, you shouldn't be sorry.. You have the right to be mad at me. I'm the one who called Alex, I'm the one who kidnapped your parents, and I'm the one who kidnapped you!", Joanna said.

"I'm so confused", I told Joanna.

"Why?", she asked.

"Why would my parents try to stab you?", I asked.

"They were scared, I guess", she answered.

"Tell me.. have you guys killed someone else before? Or are they the first people you killed?", I asked Joanna.

"Well.. they're not the first", Joanna answered..

I got scared. I didn't know what to do. Maybe they were gonna kill Dory and me. I felt that it was dangerous to Stay there, so I ran upstairs and told Dory that we had to Get out Of there. We ran downstairs to the front door, but when we opened the door, Alex stood there.

"Where do you think you're going?", Alex asked us, and closed the door.

"Please, I'm scared! You guys are murderers!", I shouted.

"Calm down! We're not gonna hurt you! You both will be fine, I promise. You just have to trust us", he said.

"Okay, okay! Can I just go outside?", I asked.

"So that you can run away? No", Joanna said.

"I'm not gonna run away, I just need some fresh air and some time alone. Are you really gonna hold us here forever?" I asked angrily.

"Just until we know you're not gonna tell anyone, I don't want to argue. Please, calm down. I know you're upset about your parents and need alone time but I want you to know that you can talk to me. Do you wanna go for a little walk tonight, just me and you?", she offered.

"If you're not gonna take me to a deserted place to kill me, then okay", I answered.

"Good", Joanna said and smiled.
