Kristina's POV
The next day, I woke up around 10:00 am. I went downstairs, and I met Joanna making breakfast in the kitchen. She looked at me."You know, I think there's only one way for us to trust you again", she said.
"How?", I asked.
"I need you to kill the people who adopted you.. that's the only way I know you're not gonna run away and go back to them", she explained.
"Kill them?", I asked.
"That's right", Joanna said.
"Are you gonna kill them or not?", Joanna asked as she took up a pocketknife.
"Fine", I said because I knew I didn't have a choice. She always won.
Just then, the door bell rang. Joanna went to open the door, and two police men stood there.
"Mr and Mrs Murphy, you're under arrest for mass murder", one of the cops said.
"That's ridiculous", Joanna said.
"Wait, what is going on?", I asked.
"It's okay, we know you're kidnapped. You and your friend will be a part of the general public", he told me.
"Bang", Joanna whispered and pointed her head upstairs. It looked like she hinted that they had their guns up there.
Dory and I got to stay home alone until after the courts.
"This is all your fault", Dory said.
"My fault? How is this my fault?", I asked.
"I just want someone to blame", she explained.
One month later, we went to the trial of Alex and Joanna. Dory and I brought a gun and hid it outside of the courtroom before we went through the security check. I knew Joanna wanted us to bring it when she hinted that the guns were upstairs. I haven't seen them in a month. I looked at them in the courtroom. They looked at us like they wondered if we brought the gun. I just nodded. In the courtroom, the was a lot of people who were judging Joanna and Alex for killing people they loved.
"You killed my child!", an elderly woman said.
Another woman were just yelling in french.
"All rise", we heard.
And then the trial had begun. There was a break in the middle of the trial. A cop followed Joanna to the toilet, but was waiting outside. I got into the toilet right next to her, and we wrote things on paper and sent to each other through the hole under the wall.
"I want you to talk to the judge for me and tell him that I will give him 100 000 dollars if he helps me and Alex getting out of this shit", she wrote on the paper.
"Fine", I wrote back.
"By the way, have you missed me?", I wrote on the next paper.
"Wow, of course I have missed you! But now we've got shit to do", Joanna wrote back to me.
She winked at me when we got out of the bathroom. I met the judge, and he accepted the offer.
"Deal", he said and shook my hand.
I hinted to Joanna that I succeeded. I just hope the judge weren't lying. The next trial, the judge had faked a lot of evidence that said that a different random man was the murderer.
I felt bad for him. But I did it for Joanna and Alex. Joanna and Alex was freed. We won the trial. Joanna hugged Dory and me.
"Thank you", she whispered.
"Where's the gun, by the way?", she asked.
"Oh, it's right over here", I said as I was going to check behind the building. But it was gone.
"What!!??", Joanna yelled.
"Shit", Dory whispered.
"You can't just hide it behind a building! Do you have any idea how expensive it is?", Alex asked.
"Sorry", I said.
"It's fine, we got cash from the police because they wanted to apologize.. they thought they did a mistake", Joanna explained with a grin.
"Now.. where were we? You were gonna kill those people, weren't you?", Joanna asked.
"I think we've already proven that you can trust us.. we got an innocent guy arrested to keep you out of prison", I explained.
"True", she smiled.
We went to buy a gun, and then we went back home.
