~Chapter 157~

Kristina's POV
The next day, I was in bed the whole day. Joanna came upstairs around 5:00 pm.

"Honey, I understand your upset about your parents' death, but it doesn't make it better to stay in the dark the whole day", she explained.

"Get out", I said.

"Kristina, please.. the dinner is ready and you haven't ate the whole day, so you really should come downstairs", she said.

"Fine", I said and got out of bed.

"You can always talk to me if you need it, okay?", Joanna stroke my hair.

I nodded.

"You probably hate me, and I don't ask you to forgive me or anything, I just want you to know that I did it because I love you. I've known you for over a year now, I couldn't let them take you away from me", she told me.

"I know", I said.

"You do?", she asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I guess I'm evil then", Joanna said.

"No, you're not.. or I don't know actually, but I want you to know that I'm trying my best to accept how you are, it's just hard", I explained.

"I know it is, but Alex made tacos, so you should come downstairs.. I know you like it", Joanna said.

I remembered it was Friday.

"I'll be there in a minute", I said.

I went to the bathroom, brushed my hair, put some different clothes on and brushed my teeth. And then I went downstairs.

We ate tacos, and I tried to say as much as I could while eating, but it was hard. Joanna told me that they had found a school that could be good for Dory and me.

"I thought you let us do online school?", I said.

"You really should go to school physically, you're getting more depressed if you stay in all day", Joanna explained.

"School is what makes me depressed.. and by the way, all the schools you've tried to get us on have psycho people who either rape us, poison us or tell on us because they finds out about us", I told her.

"Kristina, you can't do online school", she said.

"Fine.. I guess I should just do as you say if I wanna survive.. Everyone who disobey you ends up in the grave, so I guess you win.. again", I rolled my eyes and went upstairs again.

I fell asleep early.. I was exhausted.. around 11:30 I woke up and felt someone was watching me.

"Joanna!! You scared me", I said when I opened my eyes and looked right in a woman's face.

"Sorry, I was just wondering if you were awake", she explained.

"Well, now I am", I said.

I thought about my parents and how horrible it was to see they get shot. I couldn't hold back the tears. Joanna pulled me close to her and hugged me tight.

"Please, tell me where they was when I thought they were dead the first time", I begged.

Joanna didn't answer. She just looked upset.

"You kept them trapped, didn't you?", I asked.

"They were fine", she said.

"But how fine?", I asked her.

"They were safe", she said.

"Sleep", she kissed my forehead and walked out of the room.
