~Chapter 179~

Joanna's POV
That night, I woke up to a sound coming from downstairs. I grabbed my gun and went to see what was going on. I found Kristina and Dory both tied to chairs. They were unconscious, or not alive. I wasn't sure. The lights were off. I was gonna untie them, but suddenly, I heard a gun pulling the trigger, and a familiar voice came from behind me.

"Don't take another step", it said.

The lights went on. When I turned around, Emma stood there.

"Woah, look who's back. You should know better", I said.

"Shut up, don't say a word", Emma said.

"I don't take orders from anyone.. especially not from you.. but you already knew that, didn't you?", I giggled.

"You're not scared?", she asked.

"Scared? No, a teenager doesn't scare me", I took up my gun and shot her in the leg.

"I warned you to never come back here again", I took the gun away from her.

"So tell me, where did you go? Norway? I guess not, since you got a gun", I raised my eyebrows.

"None of your business", she tried to stop the bleeding.

"Tell me, and I'll spare your life", I said.

"Please", she said.

"I have the ability to save your life, so you can either tell me everything or I'm just gonna let you bleed", I explained.

"So what's it gonna be, huh? Talk? Or suffer?", I asked.

She didn't answer. I could see her fighting to stop the bleeding on her own. I were watching her suffer for about ten minutes straight, and then she finally gave up.

"I'll tell you everything you wanna know", she said.

"Now we're getting somewhere", I said and reached out my hand for her to grab.

I helped her on a chair, and gave her a towel. She covered the wound with the towel and wiped her tears.

"May I please get a glass of water?", she asked.

I went to get her the water.

"Thanks", she said.

"Are you ready to talk?", I asked.

"I met some kind of group", she explained.

"What group?", I asked.

"Criminals", was all she answered.

"And?", I raised my eyebrows.

"They offered me money to get you and Alex into the group. They let me stay there. Food. drink. I got an idea to use Kristina and Dory to threaten you to enter the group", she told me.

"Why? Why us?", I asked.

"You're really famous among the criminals.. how many times did you even get arrested?", she asked.

"What are they doing in that group?", I asked.

"Paying criminals and others to commit crimes. They really want you there. They will pay you so much", Emma told me.

"How do I know you are telling the truth?", I asked.

"Here's one of them's number", she gave me a note.

"Just please.. don't kill me, I needed the money they offered me", she told me.

"First you're gonna tell me if Dory and Kristina is fine", I said.

"They are.. I hope.. I just knocked them out", I said.

"If you killed them, I swear to you, you will regret it", I said.

I didn't know how to wake them up. I couldn't wait any longer, so I hit them. They both woke up.

"What's going on?", Dory asked.

"Oh shit, Emma?", Kristina asked.

I explained everything.

"You should go back to bed", I told them after explaining what was going on.

"Wait, can I stay?", Emma asked.

"Okay, you can stay, until tomorrow", I answered.

Emma's POV
I couldn't sleep that night. I hoped Alex and Joanna accepted my offer to join the group. Otherwise, I couldn't get the money they offered me. A million dollars. That is very much. Maybe they would even kill me. I tried not to think about it. I fell asleep around 5:30 am.
