~Chapter 155~

Dory's POV
It was August 17th, and my birthday. I woke up around 9:00 am that morning, and went downstairs.

"Happy Birthday", Joanna said.

"You remember? Thank you", I said.

"Of course I remember, you had only been here a month, you were still a little shy. It's a day I will always remember", Joanna laughed.

"Don't bring in the thing that happened, it's awkward", I said.

"Oh, you mean when you accidentally spilled your glass with coke over the table, and then you panicked and apologized the rest of the day?", she asked.

"You had just kidnapped me, I didn't know you.. for all I knew, you were gonna kill me", I said.

"For spilling drink?", she giggled.

"I don't know, you were a stranger to me", I explained.

Suddenly, Alex came.

"What do you wish for birthday?", he asked.

"I'm not sure, that's not very important actually", I answered.

"Come on, you only have birthday once a year", he said.

"Maybe.. chocolate", I told him.

"Just chocolate? Don't be shy", Joanna said.

"I'm not shy, I've been here for over a year.. maybe a necklace or some makeup", I smiled.

"Well, I think you should go to your room and stay there until someone gets you, because we're gonna fix some things for your birthday", she explained.

I got my phone and charger, and went to my room. It was boring to stay there for so long, I even fell asleep. At 6:00 pm, Kristina woke me up.

"Happy birthday, the dinner is ready", she told me.

"Thank you", I said as I got out of bed.

When I came downstairs, everyone greeted me with my favorite meal, cake, and gifts. I felt so lucky. We ate dinner, and then opened the gifts. From Kristina, I got a glass of chocolate and a body lotion. From Alex and Joanna, I got a necklace. It necklace was shaped as a heart, and it was made of gold.

"Are you for real? Thank you so much", I hugged them.

"As I said, you only have birthday once a year", Alex laughed.

The rest of the day, we played cards, talked and had fun. That night, I woke up to someone holding a knife to my neck and the other hand was over my mouth. I thought it was Alex or Joanna, but I was wrong. It was a man I had not seen before.

"When I take my hand off of your mouth, you're not gonna scream, okay?", he demanded.

I nodded, and he took his hand off of my mouth.

"Who are you?", I asked.

"Doesn't matter.. my sister have your friend, so if you want her alive, then come with me", he said.

"Hell nah", I said.

"Dory, what are you doing? You don't care what happens to Kristina? Then I'm gonna get her myself", I heard Joanna say.

She took up her gun, but the man shot her in the door before she managed to do anything. The man hit me, and I passed out. I woke up with tied hands in a cellar I had not been in before. Suddenly, a woman came in.

"Who the fuck are you? Where am I? And where's my friend?", I asked.

"I'm Elizabeth Torres, your friend will be fine if Joanna Murphy is here within the night is over", the woman explained.

"Why?", I asked.

"Because we need her to work for my team, we all know she's a very talented. We need her manipulation skills", Elizabeth told me.

"You're insane if you think she will help you with anything", I said.

"Oh she will, criminals do everything for money.. but if she don't care about the money, then I'm sure she care about you and the other girl she kidnapped", she said.

"Well, it's not only a kidnapping, we found out I'm her biological child", I explained.

"Her child?", she asked.

"That's right, so watch it.. I'm growing to become more and more like my mother every day, don't be surprised if I kill you", I said.

"Leave that to me", I heard Joanna say.

She aimed the gun at the woman.

"Careful, my brother can come anytime.. you don't wanna mess with him", Elizabeth warned Joanna.

"Oh, trust me.. that's exactly what I want", Joanna said as she shot Elizabeth in the knee, and she fell to the ground.

Suddenly, her brother came after hearing the gunshot.

"Don't take another step and don't touch your gun, or your sister won't live to see another day", Joanna threatened the man.

"Joanna, please! We just want you to join our team, we are a huge group of criminals who pay others to help us with our crimes.. you help us, and then others might help you", the man explained.

"What do you mean?", Joanna asked.

"You help us with our crimes, you'll get a lot of money and then you can pay others to help you too", he said.

"Fine", Joanna said as she put the gun down.

"Don't make me regret this, or I swear you will too", she said.

"I know, you're technically Joanna Murphy", the man said.

"What's your name?", Joanna asked.

"I'm Mason Torres, and this is my sister, Elizabeth Torres", the man answered.

"You know what, Mason Torres? I will join you, but there will be consequences for putting your hands on my girls", Joanna said as she shot Mason in the knee and took is gun away from him. He screamed.

"That looks like it hurt, that's what I'm betting for.. next time, you call me instead of kidnapping my kids.. where's Kristina? Tell me before I blow your sister's head off right in front of your eyes", Joanna demanded to Mason.

Mason told us where Kristina was, Joanna cut the rope around my hands, and then we left.
