Joanna's POV
The court decided to get finished with the trial as soon as possible, because Christmas was coming. The trial was already the next day. We all was really nervous that morning, and tried to find as much evidence as possible before the trial. The judge told us that just because the police caught him, doesn't mean that they had all the evidence they needed.

"Then how can we prove it, your Honor?", I asked.

"I know how to prove it.. Joanna, when you were in the interrogation room with Mason Carter, the cameras recorded the conversation between you two! Which means he admitted it himself. And the NYPD caught him. So we have plenty of evidence", Alex explained.

"Please, do show us the recordings", the judge said.

The police showed the video recordings, and the judge looked really surprised.

"Woah, that was a brutal conversation", he said shocked.

"Woops", I giggled.

"Your Honor, In this recording, he even admitted that he were a drug dealer", Alex said.

"That's true", the judge said.

After hours, Mason was found guilty, and was sentenced for a lifetime in prison.

Kristina's POV
Joanna looked at Mason and smiled a wicked grin after the trial.

When we came home that afternoon, we all celebrated with a nice dinner. We laughed and had fun. After the dinner, Alex went outside to take a smoke to celebrate that Mason was in prison. Haha. Dory went to the bathroom.

"Joanna, please do me a favor.. don't kill anyone this Christmas.. I actually love you and I don't want to change this one", I explained.

I saw Joanna get emotional. She hugged me. Later that evening, Dory and I sat on the couch watching The Originals. Suddenly, Joanna came to us and asked what we wished for Christmas.

I explained that I wished for perfume or merch of The Vampire Diaries/The Originals. Dory wanted clothes and a cool necklace.

Joanna was about to walk away, but I stopped her.

"Wait.. what do you wish for?", I asked.

She smiled.

"There's only one thing I wish for.. a family", she answered.

Joanna's POV
The next day, Alex and I went to the mall for Christmas shopping. Alex shopped food while I bought presents. When I was at the necklace store, I recognized a man that was looking strange at me. I paid for the necklace and texted Alex that I put the things in the car. Just when I was going away from the car, the man came and tried to rape me.

"What the hell, you nasty fool?", I said as I grabbed his hand and twisted it around. It broke.

I pushed him so he fell on his knees and I kicked him in the face. I put him on the ground and held a knife to his throat. I was about to kill him, but then I remembered what Kristina said.

"You're lucky this time! But if it happens again, the only thing you will feel, is a knife inside your heart when I'm slaughtering you", I threatened him.

"Screw off, shit head!", I yelled when he ran away.

Suddenly, Alex came.

"Woah, damn.. hot as always", he said.

We went home and made dinner.

"Kristina, will you come her and help me?", I asked.

She sighed.

"Excuse me?", I said.

"Oh shit", she said and came into the kitchen.

Alex and Dory helped me setting the table. They were joking and laughing. Later that day, I recognized that Kristina was gone. I knew exactly where to find her. At the little beach not far from our house. She was crying.

"Hey.. what's the matter, honey?", I asked.

"It's tears of joy", she answered.

"I feel that we've finally gotten the family we long have searched for", she explained.

"Me too", I smiled.

"You know.. I may seem evil and ruthless, but I still love you.. when I first kidnapped you, my goal was to manipulate you into liking this place, just to prevent you from calling the police. But not anymore. Trust me. You're my daughter, and you'll always be. And I will never, ever, kill you. Okay?", I wiped her tears.

She nodded. I could see she was trying not to cry. And I knew that she was embarrassed, but she suddenly broke down and couldn't stop crying. I didn't know what to do. I ended up in some kind of "oh shit" situation. I panicked a little. I pulled her close to me and didn't let go.

We sat there for a few minutes. I kissed her forehead, and then we went home. We watched a Christmas movie, ate snacks, and then we went to bed.
