PAGE ONE

Caption: A week ago. Lin Kuei temple. Smoke's room.

Panel 1: We see Smoke packing his bags. His wife enters the room and puts a hand on his arm.

Brianna: How are you feeling about...all this? I'm sure it was a shocker to suddenly find out so much information all at once about your family, and about everything that happened to you before you joined the clan.

Smoke: Yeah, it was certainly a lot to take in. But I'm handling it well.

Panel 2: Brianna leans in with a smile and kisses him.

Brianna: Do ya promise to tell me all about it?

Smoke: Of course darling. Hell I wish this was just a normal trip and I could bring you and the kids along.

Panel 3: Brianna kisses him again and sits on the bed, helping him finish packing.

Brianna: Yeah, but hey after it's over I'm sure you can arrange something.

Smoke: I already planned it out. Once my brother and I take them down, I'm 100 percent taking the family on a trip there.

Brianna: Oh I'm so excited already! By the way have you guys found any more information?

Caption: Smoke and his brother have been searching for information on the cult that kidnapped him as a child.

Smoke: Yeah, quite a lot. We found out they have groups in Earthrealm and Outworld. They've been operating in silence for centuries now.

Brianna: Do they have a name?

Smoke: Yeah, they're called Los Demonios, which means the demons. They're an ancient cult, who believes that human sacrifice will bring them one step closer to immortality and godhood, and they've been desperately searching for a way to attain it. The whole group is insane, they believe human sacrifice and mutilation will bring them to immortality and allow them to possess the power of an Enenra. Some of them are so dedicated to the cause that they volunteer themselves for sacrifice or mutilation, believing that they're contributing to the greater good for the Enenra. They apparently have powers too, according to what I read they a made a pact with a sorcerer in exchange for powers.

Brianna: You think it was Shang Tsung or Quan Chi?

Smoke: Probably. The articles I read, some were actually written by former members. They mentioned that the ones who sacrificed themselves for the cult would have their souls claimed by the sorcerer and in exchange he gave them information on the Enenras. Something like that has Shang Tsung written all over it.

Brianna: Yeah, I gotta say it adds up for him.

Smoke: It does. Alright, we're finished packing for today, you helped me to make the process a lot faster honey. Let's take a break and finish the rest tomorrow, since we don't have much left.

Brianna: Alright, I'll go get the kids since it's about time for dinner anyway.

Panel 4: We cut to a scene of Smoke standing with Kuai Liang, Bi-Han and Cyrax.

Sub-Zero: A centuries old cult that avoided discovery for centuries...I'm not surprised at all.

Bi-Han: Indeed. Considering Shang Tsung also offered them protection, it makes sense that they were able to remain undetected. Not unlike the Lin Kuei itself.

Cyrax: At least we didn't do sacrifices in the hopes of immortality. Or force our members to become cyborgs.

Bi-Han: That is true. Tell me Tomas, were you able to find out about any of their fighting techniques? I vaguely recall a mission where I had to assassinate a member of some mysterious group and he demonstrated great skill with a sword and dagger. However he was very lacking when it came to unarmed combat.
