Panel 1: Floyd immediately charges at his opponents, attempting to overwhelm them. He finds success at first, hammering Scorpion and Sub-Zero with powerful strikes and leaving visible damage. He freezes them both and unleashes a powerful thunder blast that strikes them both and shocks them. The others observing seem to notice something.
Cassie: Are they letting themselves get hit? No, it's something else...
Takeda: I get it now. Look.
Panel 2: We see Floyd visibly slowing down with each strike he throws, compared to Scorpion and Sub-Zero who are calm and taking the strikes with ease. Floyd uncorks a flaming right uppercut on Sub-Zero who shrugs it off. He steps back and lands a flaming head kick on Scorpion who tanks it. He steps back again, shaking his head.
Sub-Zero: You wasted far too much energy. As a result your attacks have less power behind them and they aren't as fast.
Caption: As a result of Floyd failing to pace himself, his body has depleted its anaerobic energy reserves, leading to lactic acid buildup, muscle failure, and loss of technical form. To combat this, fighters must improve aerobic capacity, manage heart rate, and focus on relaxation and efficient, rhythmic breathing during intense bursts. However, as pointed out before, Floyd lacks the necessary experience to understand this.
Panel 3: We see Scorpion utilizing the same technique he demonstrated against Onaga. He uses his normal Hellfire to move and dodge, only activating the blue Hellfire when he unleashes attacks on Floyd. Floyd rushes in and gets countered by a flaming right straight punch from Scorpion that breaks his skull followed by a flaming switch kick to the body that breaks his ribs. Scorpion pushes him away with a flaming side kick to the stomach and immediately goes back to his normal orange Hellfire.
Scorpion: Still not fully used to this yet...
Panel 4: Floyd gets up and unleashes more power, pushing Scorpion back a bit. He manages to time the exact moment Scorpion attempts to switch over to his more powerful blue Hellfire and lands an attack to prevent the switch. Each time Scorpion tries to switch Floyd stops him with a heavy striking combination. Jab, right head kick. Uppercut, switch left knee. Hook right low kick . Scorpion steps back. He nods and goes to attack again, however he manages to bait Floyd this time. Scorpion switches to blue but immediately goes back to orange when Floyd goes for his counter. Scorpion avoids each counter this time , goes back to blue and lands striking combinations of his own.
Panel 5: Jab rear uppercut left hook rear knee to the body. Jab to the body left hook up top, cross hook rear body kick. Scorpion slips a right hand and counters with a left hook followed by a head kick. He kicks Floyd against the wall and just like an MMA fighter getting their opponent against the cage he begins to attack. He immediately lands a lead uppercut elbow followed by another knee to the body. Lead hook rear slash elbow. We see a visibly upset Shang Tsung watching as his creation gets pieced up.
Panel 6: Floyd teleports out of the way just as Scorpion is about to land another elbow. However Scorpion is right on him, still using the same new switching strategy. However this time we see Floyd adapt again. When Scorpion implements his strategy, Floyd teleports or freezes him then counters with a strike of his own. He analyzes the exact moment of the double switch to exact his counterattack. He uppercuts Scorpion away and as soon as he gets back up Floyd is on the attack. Cross left hook rear body kick. Jab Cross switch left knee. However, Scorpion isn't deterred.
Panel 7: Scorpion avoids a head kick as his head becomes a flaming skull. He unleashes a wave of fire from his mouth. Floyd teleports away just to get hit by a regular fireball and a more powerful blue fireball that sends him spiraling away. He shakes it off and avoids more fireballs. Floyd teleports behind him, however Scorpion was anticipating this. He immediately turns around and unleashes a stream of blue Hellfire directly onto him. Floyd drops down, screaming and writhing in pain. He then stops, seemingly dead. However, Scorpion isn't so sure. He prepares to aim a downward punch at Floyd's head.
