Christian's POV

"The cast is removed. First day of being an actual coach. How do you feel?" I asked Cassie and she shrugged. "What's wrong? We had a good time celebrating the twins birthday, New Years, going to Hawaii, and celebrating your birthday. Why aren't you happy?"

"Because now that we are actually finished with all of that, that means we are closer to being apart for so long. Why did you let me take the job babe?" She put her head against my chest. "I miss my babies already, how am I supposed to do this until May?"

She didn't move for a couple of minutes and when she finally did, I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around me and then her arms around my neck. "We will find a way to make this work. And after this season, if you don't like it, you can quit babe. Just try something new." I went to kiss her but she didn't notice. When she finally looked at my lips, she laughed and kissed them. "Later tonight maybe we can have some sex?"

"I like the sound of that. Will you barbecue tonight too? I want your food instead of mine." I nodded and set her down. As I walked her to driveway, I looked at her getting in Cameron's car. It was sad to see she was still very afraid of driving and wouldn't drive anywhere.

Cassie's POV

"Okay ladies, today we are starting our first conditioning. I'm still trying to learn names so if I don't remember your name, I'm sorry. Today we are starting with laps around the field. We will start with three. I know not everyone can run the whole thing so do your best." The girl started running around the field and I looked at the assistant coach. "I've never watched these kids play, how do they play?"

"They're good. Last year they had a few big pieces graduate so that's what we're gonna have to try and replace." After the first lap, a lot of the girls were tired.

"Come on ladies, I'll run it with you," I said and started running around the field. It took about ten minutes to finish the laps for everyone. When the girls took their water breaks, a lot of them glanced at me. "What?" I asked and they just shrugged.

"I didn't think you could run those laps and not get tired from it." I laughed a little.

"I conditioned for years during travel and high school. I have a brother who played in the MLB and he made me condition with him. My husband and I go to the gym during the off season. I have two twin boys I have to chase around. My daughter is going to start walking soon and I know I'm gonna have to chase her around all the time. I'm always up doing everything."

I took a sip of water and then I heard someone call my name. I looked back and it was Christian standing up on the top of the hill with the kids. He smiled and they all waved. I waved back and then looked at the girls again.

"Okay that is absolutely adorable."

"He is cute," Someone else said and I laughed. "So like how did you know he was the one?"

"I don't need to explain myself to you guys," I said and we all laughed. "We're only doing an hour of conditioning so let's finish. Let's do some running in the infield. Then we will finish the conditioning with a running game. Two teams and it will be relay running around the bases." They nodded and we walked over there. The assistant coach and I watched the girls run and then finish with the relay.

"Okay it was a good first day, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. Break it off." I said and they all got in a circle and a few girls said a few words. As I was locking up the gate to the field, I heard one of the boys. "Hi baby, I missed you," I told him when I picked him up. I kissed his face and he smiled.

I walked with Mason back to where Christian was at. "You looked good out there Coach Cassie," Christian said and gave me a hug.

"I have to make sure everyone gets a ride home and then I'll be able to leave. If you'd like to stay you can. If not you can go home and get dinner going."
